I took an AI class in November and have still called my dad to breed all cows and heifers since then... Many of the cows in the farm don't belong to me and I want to make sure they get bred back quickly for the other owners. When it comes to my animals, I want them to settle just as badly so I can have the best show aged animals possible.
I came up with a lot of excuses... tonight, I put on my big girl panties and bred Catalina without calling for assistance. I think it went well 🤔 we'll find out in about a month! Oddly enough, my dad walked around the corner as I was letting her out of the barn. He was bringing my show fan and some mail... if I had been struggling for another 5 minutes, he would have been there without either one of us having planned that timing and if you know anything about breeding a cow, you know that timing is everything. From when you actually can breed her around the heat to the number of minutes of the actual thawing and act of breeding...
God works in wonderous ways, never forget that there's a reason for everything to happen when and how it does. Cross your fingers for a settled Catalina! What perfect timed moments have you experienced lately?
