We're grateful to WBFF FOX 45 for featuring First Fruits Farm in their Community Connections: Food is Medicine segment, filmed in the studio with our distribution partner, the Italian Cultural Center of Maryland (The Bit Center).

From 1,000 bushels to just over 50, our orchard is nearing the end of its life cycle. But Rick and Carol Bernstein still find beauty (and the occasional black snake) among the trees every fall.

Our co-founders Rich and Carol Bernstein wrote a beautiful reflection for Lancaster Farming this month, and it started with a problem in the fields.
This spring, grass overtook a 250,000-plant onion crop, hiding the bulbs completely from view. But when the team finally mowed it back, they found a full, healthy harvest waiting underneath.
Rich draws a striking connection between that experience and Jesus' parable of the wheat and the weeds in Matthew 13 and what it teaches us about patience, faith, and trusting the harvest to come.
