Davis Family Farms

Davis Family Farms 📍2239 Davis Mill Rd. Fremont, NC

We are a small family farm, growing a variety of produce using sustainable and regenerative farming practices.

We also offer a wide range if pasture raised meats including chicken, lamb, beef and pork. Davis Family Farms is a multi-generational Farm serving the people of North Carolina, located at 2239 Davis Mill Rd, Fremont, NC 27830. We began our business and way of life in agriculture in the year 1776, the first Davis family member fell in love with the land. Since then, we’ve been through many changes

and have become a major landmark for visitors of the region. Recently, we were recognized by the NC State Agriculture Department as an official Bi-Centennial farm. Check out our events calendar to make sure you don’t miss out on anything, and for more information get in touch with us. We look forward to your visit!

Proud of my brother for this accomplishment!

Here it is, folks, the announcement I've been teasing: I wrote a book!

Rooted in Faith: Lessons on God's Creation from the Family Farm will be released December 1. Pre-order link in the comments below.

Rooted in Faith explores what it means to be a part of God's world, and entrusted with caring for creation, using the framework of my family's farm. In this book, I use scripture to explore the Enjoyment of creation, the Use of creation, the Dominion of creation, and more, all with an eye of helping us understand how we love God and love our neighbor in the world we share.

⛪️🌱 Because Sunday morning are for looking at your crops…

🌧️ Yesterday we got a MUCH needed rain and you can already see the difference it made.

🍂🌞 While fall may be right around the corner, summer is still holding on

- Okra, tomatoes, peppers and watermelons are still hanging on and coming out of the fields.

- Fall squash and cucumbers are close to being ready

- Fall peas and green beans are looking good and we are staring to see a few blooms on them.

- The rain was really good for our young collards. We are planning to set cabbage and broccoli next week.

- Pumpkins and sunflowers are really starting to look promising.

🥬 Today we planted our first round of collards.

🙏🏻 If you will, please join us in prayer…

“Lord we give you thanks for the opportunity to do Your work. To plant, cultivate and harvest the glorious yellow cabbage collard

Lord we give you thanks to be part of the blessed people to call Eastern NC home.

Lord we give you thanks for the holy and unique gift to the blessed people of Eastern NC of the yellow cabbage collard.

Lord we ask that you send the needed rain so that your gift thrives and grows bountiful.

Lord we ask you send that frost right on time this fall.

Lord we ask that those who have never tried collards and those that don’t know may find your grace and find Your salvation.

Lord for those who turn up their nose and say non-sense like “I don’t eat collards” may they find Your mercy and forgiveness. Lord we humble ourselves and ask that may even include the transplants. But only if that is your will.

Lord we ask you go before us and ensure the ham hocks and fatback are plentiful this year.

Lord we ask your protection over the seemingly few of us left that know how to properly prepare Your holy gift of the yellow cabbage collard. That you protect their pots, cauldrons and other sacred tools.

Lord the world seems so dark right now and we give You thanks that we have that big ol bowl of properly grown and cooked collards to give us hope of Sunday lunches and Thanksgiving dinner.

And all God’s people said….AMEN!!

THE CATTLE ON A THOUSAND HILLS STILL BELONG TO HIM.

There have been plenty of comments lately saying:

“You got what you voted for.”
“Hope you enjoy going broke.”
“Maybe you should've voted differently.”

Here's something worth remembering.

Farmers and ranchers have worked through Republican administrations and Democrat administrations. We've seen good policies, bad policies, droughts, floods, high cattle markets, low cattle markets, high interest rates and rising input costs.

Leaders matter. Elections matter. Policy matters. And when a policy hurts American agriculture, producers should absolutely speak up about it.

But no President has ever owned the cattle on a thousand hills.

“For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.”
— Psalm 50:10 KJV

That's where the foundation is.

Supporting a leader doesn't require pretending every decision is right. Opposing a leader shouldn't require hoping his decisions hurt your neighbors just so you can say “I told you so.”

When leadership changes, the prayer shouldn't be for the next administration to fail so the other side can win an argument.

Pray they succeed in doing what's right for this country. Pray they have wisdom. Hold them accountable when they're wrong. And remember that ultimately our faith was never supposed to rest in Washington.

Presidents come and go.

Markets rise and fall.

Policies change.

Droughts come.

Storms come.

And the cattle on a thousand hills still belong to Him.

Agriculture will do what agriculture has always done:

Work. Adapt. Endure. Pray.

Because the future of American agriculture is bigger than red versus blue—and faith is bigger than an election.
