Kaufmann Dairy Farms

Kaufmann Dairy Farms Keeping The Family Farms Around! Kaufmann Dairy Farm is a farm of 130 milking cows in a 6 row Freestall built in 2007. Again in 2011 we were at it again!

The Freestall was the start of the transition from a 65 cow stanchion barn to where we are today! For the first 2.5 years we switched 3 milking groups of cows from the Freestall to the old milking barn, where we milked them with 7 units on a 2in pipeline. In 2010, we decided to put in a swing 8 GEA westfalia surge parlor to help with time effectiveness of milking. We built a new Heifer facility th

at will hold most of our youngstock and bred heifers. The fist section of the barn holds calves 5 months on up divided in 4 pens. The second section of the barn is made up of 3 row freestalls sand bedded, which holds our bred heifers. The Freestall is also sand bedded and the alleys are scraped everyday. We are on daily haul of manure which is land spread. We scrape the heifer barn every other day and land spread that manure. We have and comply with a 590 Nutrient Management Plan. Kaufmann Dairy runs 500+ Acres. The Dairy owns 352 acres, 47 of that which is woods, and rent 180 Acres. We have enough acreage to grow and produce all the feed needed to feed the herd. We also take pride in the history of tractors and machinery used in the past. On the farm, you will find 35 antique tractors, some overhauled and painted and some yet in their original condition. We have a large collection of Allis-Chalmers tractors along with a few Farmall's, Ford, Case, McCormick, and John Deere tractors. We also have a collection of antique farm machinery used in the olden days! Keeping the Past Alive!
