If being obsessed with your own Nature School is wrong, I don’t wana be right 😆

The first 3 weeks of school have gone by in a flash and I can’t wait to continue making amazing memories for 33 more weeks!

I cannot take credit for all of our amazing lessons! Ms. Brittany, Ms. Josie and I rotate through lesson planning and teaching, and it’s already become so much fun seeing if we can out awe each other with engaging crafts and creative experiments. It’s been incredibly rewarding watching our students become so captivated with hands on learning!

Stay tuned for all the adventures ahead! By the time Spring rolls around, we will be identifying as Bill Nye 🔬, Ms. Frizzle 🦎 and Bob Ross 🎨

(Message us or comment below if you’d like your child to be placed on our waitlist for enrollment!)

I couldn’t have asked for a better first week of our second year of Nature School!

New teachers, new rhythms, and even a few new faces made for the sweetest and most exciting week!

Our theme was “All about me” and “Seeing yourself in nature”. We explored the letter M for “me” and “mirror” and did some hands on activities with mirrors like walking in the clouds, chasing the sun, and learning about leaf symmetry.

We read so many books, learned all about our friends during circle time, made crafts, and somehow still had time to prioritize play….because we believe that’s where the real learning happens at this age.

Some of my favorite memories this week were sitting on the porch and waiving to the tractors passing by, watching as every student in the Friday class engaged in deep imaginative play in our wooden boat, and D very passionately stuffing all 4 of her pockets full of pecans 😆

Cheers to our SECOND year of Nature School! This is just the beginning.

(We currently have one spot available in our Wednesday class. It’s also never too early to put your child on our waitlist if they aren’t yet 3. Comment or message us for more info!)

FIRST DAY OF NATURE SCHOOL (Year 2)

Honestly, I was a little worried.

Last year everything was brand new.

The schoolhouse, the program, the experience.

I wondered if the super sweet hype of that very first year could be topped.

Would it feel just as fun, exciting and special?

Yes. The answer is yes, and today was even better in some ways. This year I woke up knowing what to expect, without all the jitters. This year I woke up remembering that each passing year is about steady progress and growth, not perfection.

What I forgot was just how magical Nature School truly is. How it makes you feel. How being outside in nearly 100 degree weather laughing at kids covered in paint and goats eating their way through a pecan tree is the only way I would want to spend my days.

How even when the harsh winter comes and we are meeting when it’s 20 degrees out, with less light in the sky and less energy in our spirit, there will still be something to smile about. And eventually, warm weather will return, as it always does. And we will all experience the rebirth that only Spring can bring. Together. That’s the magic.

The best part about today was seeing so many familiar faces, from returning students, to summer campers and Little Farm Friends turned students. And that’s something that we can continue to count on year after year….the families that believe in what we are building here.

Nature School was never just special because it was new. It’s special because of what it means to all who attend… the memories, the friendships, and the realization that we aren’t here to simply observe nature, we are here to remember we are truly a small part of it all.

As we gear up for our Nature School student/parent orientation for the 2026-2027 school year beginning in just 2 weeks, I’m realizing I never shared the great memories we made at our end of year May Faire celebration a couple months ago.

We made flower crowns, met cool snakes and enjoyed the community we had spent the past 9 months building. We can’t wait to start the second year of our very special Waldorf inspired nature preschool.

If you have a child between the ages of 3-5 who would thrive in a gentle, alternative part time program on our beautiful little farm, there’s only a few days left to apply. Comment or message us for more information!

(Special thanks to Josh Edwards from Blain’s Boas for bringing out some special guests and being so great with the kids. I would definitely recommend them for your next event!)
