Well. 500 new trees were planted this spring. The entire plantation has been mowed once. I have done soil testing and I am 3/4 of the way done with fertilizing the trees. I have spread about a quarter of a ton of fertilizer handful by handful to each individual tree as needed according to it's size. The fertilizer is spread around the tree at the "drip line." This is the area around the longest branches of the tree. not against the trunk. As I look at the ground and circle the trees one at a time I get so dizzy that I have to look up and let the world slow down! There are about 3000 trees. I'm about 2/3s done. I'm hoping to complete it all before this weekend's rain. Maybe a little optimistic! The rain will help the fertilizer leach into the ground and begin to feed the trees Nitrogen, Potassium and Phosphorous. The trees will begin to benefit within 5 to 7 days to let the tree push the new growth and to create a better root base! I do love my job on days like these. Shearing in August?? Not so much! See you all soon!

So today I had to put some things in the store and when I went in I noticed a box on the counter inside the shop. I looked inside and I found an amazing clock that had an engraved and colored picture of the Windy Meadow Tree Shack! I have no idea who put it there or when but I wanted to say that I love it! Thank you so much for your thoughtful gift whoever you are. It reminds me of the wonderful customers who come here and makes me a little sad that it will be another year before I see you all again. I would love to know who put this here! Thank you again for the awesome gift and please whoever you are have a fantastic year.
