A few more of our turkey hatchlings from this year.

Theyā€™re not quite ready to join the rest of the feathered crew in the big run yet, but hopefully just a few more weeks!

Iā€™m pretty sure we have a hen and a gobbler. Lance has already decided the hen is stayingā€¦ now heā€™s trying to decide what to do with the gobbler.

Why is it so hard to decide which ones get to stay?!

Nothing like a little storm brewing at the homestead. This lightning stayed on the cloud for a while and pretty excited I caught some of it on video.

Not every day is fun and happy when owning critters.

Today would be one of those days here for us.

The last few days we noticed Toruk wasnā€™t his normal self so we had been keeping a close eye on him.

Some time after I watered and fed the feathered friends this morning Toruk passed away. šŸ„ŗ

The first photo was the last one I took yesterday evening and I think the ducks knew what was going on and they were keeping an eye on him.

Rest easy Toruk. You were one of the favorites around here and will be missed. šŸ’›šŸ’”

Ok guys we need your help!

This fella is a new addition from the hatches we did this year and I had to keep him I love his colors!

For some reason I only name my roosters and not my hens, my guess is because I have way too many hens and wouldnā€™t remember them all šŸ¤£.

So the other two roosters are Jersey and Sammie. I donā€™t know what to call him.

Tater Tot has an important question for you this morningā€¦

Have you had your coffee yet, or are you still operating on ā€œdonā€™t talk to me until further noticeā€ mode?

She says a good day starts with coffee, a little sunshine, and maybe a snack or two. And honestlyā€¦ she might be onto something.

When I got home from work this evening I put Miss Betty in with Perseus and ā€¦.. well we had a few successful fall offs this evening!

Miss Betty is a little feisty one when I was trying to get her out and out her in her hutch she scratched me a couple times.

Oh well that the part of having critters sometimes!

Want to give a huge shout out to Hacker Farms who is currently helping us do some match making with our rabbits.

They took Miss Hera since my bucks are too big and Iā€™m afraid they will hurt her and they paired her with one of their bucks and fingers crossed some fall off have happened.

They also let us borrow Betty to try to pair with Perseus but we havenā€™t been able to try just yet hoping to do so this evening when I get home from work.

Fingers crossed this will be successful so we can figure out of Perseus is going to be a good breeder. šŸ¤ž
