So we had a little surprise when we got home

Miss Hera had babies!

She didn’t pull much hair for a nest so we ended up making up a nesting box for her and gathered as much hair as we could.

We asked Hacker Farms who threw the colors they say it’s Hera. It’s so cool to see how the genes work.

We’ll be keeping a close eye on them since we don’t know if she has ever had babies before we got her.

She had a total of 8 but lost 3 so we have a total of 5.

Thank you again Hacker Farms we appreciate you!

Happy Wednesday!

I’m getting a little morning hunt in on this beautiful day and going to see if I can fill the freezer a bit.

Have a great day!

What a beautiful photo of the sky tonight. We hope you all had a good day and get a good nights rest.

Well today was not how I expected it to go this morning when checking on the critters.

Today when I went to take care of the rabbits, our boy Perseus was dead. I’m not sure what exactly what happened.

Hopefully Miss Betty from Hacker Farms took when we bred her with him and maybe Miss Andromeda took when she was bred so we can at least have some of his genes.

This has me thinking that maybe it’s time to get out of the rabbit business, this has just not been our year. Once we see if Miss Andromeda and Miss Hera has kits we will see what we decide to do.

Sorry we’ve been a little MIA this week, it’s been a rough week over here.

It’s been quite rainy the last two or three days and more rain in sight for us.

I’m just hoping fall weather starts soon 🤣

We hope you’ve had a good week so far.

This Monday morning on the homestead looks a little something like this…

Coffee for me, breakfast for the animals, and approximately 47 things that need to be done before noon.

Anyone else feeling like this too?

What’s in your cup this morning?

Happy Friday! We hope you all have a great day!

The rain has settled in here and I’ll be heading to go get my son from college for weekend visit home!

I decided to put Perseus and Andromeda in again to see if we can have any success. Every time we put her in with him she doesn’t lift and there’s no fall off. I don’t know what we are doing wrong but we’re hoping eventually she will lift and take.
