It’s here!

After months of celebrating the people, places, businesses, and organizations that make our community special, we’re excited to officially launch the First Annual Best of Livingston Parish Awards presented by Living In Parish Magazine!

This is the first fan-voted awards program created specifically for Livingston Parish, giving residents the opportunity to recognize the businesses, leaders, organizations, and local favorites they believe deserve the spotlight.

Here’s how it works:

• Phase One: Nominations (Now Open!)
For the next two weeks, we’ll be accepting nominations across all categories. We encourage you to nominate your favorite businesses, nonprofits, restaurants, professionals, community leaders, and local gems throughout Livingston Parish.

• Phase Two: Final Voting
Once nominations close, the top five most-nominated entries in each category will advance to the final voting round, where the community will determine the winners.

• Phase Three: The Best of Livingston Parish Issue
Winners will be featured in our August/September edition of Living In Parish Magazine, which will serve as our official Best of Livingston Parish issue and be distributed parish-wide.

Businesses that advance to the final round will also have special advertising and recognition upgrade opportunities available for the August/September issue. More details on those options will be announced soon.

Closed her eyes...

Tilted her head back...

And tears began running down her face.

For several seconds she stood there silently while our entire booth wondered if something was wrong.

When she finally opened her eyes, she smiled and shared a story that none of us have ever forgotten.

It was one of the first markets French Settlement Roasting Co ever attended, and to this day it remains one of the most powerful reminders of why we do what we do.

Before that day, I thought we were simply selling coffee.

I had no idea how deeply coffee was tied to memories, loved ones, friendships, and moments people carry with them for a lifetime.

This customer taught me something I'll never forget.

If you've noticed we've been a little quieter lately, it's because we've been busy doing something that doesn't involve roasting coffee at 3 AM... for once.

Over the past several months, we've poured hundreds of hours into completely transforming our website into one of the most comprehensive coffee resources around. And yes, there were plenty of late nights, coffee-fueled brainstorming sessions, and moments where we questioned our sanity while building coffee calculators at midnight. 😅
