I’ve made these marshmallow crispy cookies maybe 6 times this year already. They’re so good and pretty easy to make! Recipe from Brooke Homec | SALTED sweets 💜 They’re a homemade version of the Costco cookies. Tips: (1) Freeze the marshmallows until you need them to get them to hold their shape more during baking. (2) Adjust the salt level to your liking.

I highly recommend the almond granola breakfast bowl at OtherSide. It’s unlike any other granola or yogurt options at other restaurants. The granola is perfectly crunchy, the berries and banana are fresh, the almond butter (it’s like the sweetened whipped almond butter in the kids meal at Butterfish) is delicious, and the yogurt is so soft and freshly made. A friend had recommended this because it is so good and light and she was right!

The best ube matcha!! The flavor of the ube cold foam and the matcha are strong and perfect. I got 25% sweet with oat milk and it was so so good! Check out those colors! wadi matcha ☆ ✨💜💚

This was the best double matcha ever! It was so good and the matcha is strong and amazing!! 🤩 💚 wadi matcha ☆ is also very sweet!

Iced sweet cinnamon latte (half sweet) from Origin Coffee. I rarely find lattes with the right coffee-to-milk ratio. This was perfect! I’m glad I got it half sweet too. My mom’s matcha latte was good too and their prices were reasonable! Check out that coffee/barista play area for kids!

This lox chili crisp bagel sandwich is SO GOOD!! Lox, chive cream cheese, avocado, chili crisp, lemon, cucumber, capers, salt & pepper. It wasn’t too spicy at all (I can’t handle too much heat). What a dream. It really hit the spot.

I updated this list of Obon celebrations because they recently changed the date of the Fowler Obon. There are some flyers for Visalia, Oakland, and the SoCal area church Obons here now too. There are many more across the state and US.

Here’s Sacramento’s 2026 Obon info! Food includes “teriyaki beef sandwiches, Gunther’s Freezes, and a delightful variety of other culinary delights, starting at 5:00 p.m.”

If you love Japanese food, you have to stop by the Fresno Obon on May 30th! You can just get food and leave if you want but there are kid games, a beer booth, simple dancing, taiko, etc.
