I really love both California and Texas and I have lived in both States on and off my whole life. There are things about Texas that I just don't like and there are things about California I just don't like. There are things that I love about both places. But when it comes to giving an event hands down Texans own it. If they say they're going to be at your party or your wedding they consider it disrespectful not to keep their word and you're more likely to get a text or a call or some sort of communication saying why they can't make it. Californians will wait more toward the last minute and if it looks like a long drive they might just not show up with no call or no communication. However every single plate at an event has a dollar sign on it. Each place setting is worth a certain amount of money. If a person will even just let you know via text at the last minute that they cannot make it then the host may have options. For instance, they can either scale down the catering or if its too late they can nvite someone else to fill that space. That way it's not just wasted space they are paying for. . Things come up all the time for all of us. We can all just work on being more polite. Just notify someone that you cannot make it to their event. Send a text. I am sure in all States its changed toa degree post pandemic. However, it's even more frustrating if you send a reminder out to all your guests and they still don't respond that they cannot make it and you are left with empty chairs that you were paying for. That is my rant for today
