I want to share a family Dill Pickle Recipe-This was my mother-in-law,Gertrude Park.It is so easy and the best recipe I have tried.You can can them as whole cucumbers ,chunk or slice them-I use the big ones sliced.The smaller ones I use whole.Wash cucumbers .To each jar add 2 teaspoons Dill seed,(Can use 1/2 fresh dill head if you have it)I prefer the fresh!Add a small pinch of Alum,1 clove garlic,1 hot pepper,opt.Then add the cucumbers.Put the other 1/2 garlic head on top of cucumbers.Let come to boil: 1 quart white vinegar,1 cup pickling salt.3 quarts of water.Pour over cucumbers. Heat lids and seal-They are suppose to keep for 3 weeks before you open them..When Doneida,Phil and Cristy were at home -They didn't make it that long-For them it was a good snack right out of the jar!(Chill before you eat them-Unless for burger or sandwich-)

I have promised I would start posting some cooking recipes and hints along the way-I have a recipe I want to share that I have used and enjoyed this time of year-It was from a family member",Peggy Smith"that I miss a lot-"Microwave Fresh Sweet Corn".You may not have the problem I do with scorching it on the stove-To a quart of cut off corn put it in glass bowl(.Add water only if it is really starchy--)If it is I use about 1/4 cup and stir.Heat until it is hot through and through.I stir after 2 minutes.Usually after 5 minutes it is hot-Take out and stir-If you are in a hurry ,add 4-5 ice cubes and stir-I find the glass bowl works better than a crock bowl.It heats faster-

Just tried out some wonderful deviled eggs-Put smoked bacon (,cooked brown and crisp.,) dash of hot sauce, mustard,worcheshire sauce and mayo.I put small amount of shredded lettuce and tomato diced on top-Good appetizer!
