Always fun to see the other plants and animals that make their home on the farm! 🍁 🚜 🐝 We may not be at many summer markets and events this year but we stay busy cleaning up the maple woods, making hay, and tending bees. We will be at the Allegany County Fair July 20-25.

Are you ready for Maple Weekend #2! Carlin's will have Chicken BBQ's available on Saturday at our sugar house. We made a fresh batch of maple sugar pieces. You might even find a Maple Easter bunny!

Sugar Snow has arrived the last few days! Thick, fluffy snow in March has been know as Sugar Snow since it helps keep the forests cooler and extends sap runs for maple producers.

I'm sure many are loving this warm weather! However it's not great for maple production. Nights below freezing and days above freezing are best for sap flow. Hoping it cools down soon before the maple trees bud out. Red maples tend to bud earlier than Sugar maples and we have both in our sugarwoods.
