Will placed third with his carcass steer at the National Junior Angus Show.

We finished all of our competitions for the week at angus jounior nationals so we had some time to go see a really big boat at the Ark Encounter. We have to wait till Friday to see how our carcass steer entry scored

Will loaded up his carcass steer to head to Tyson to be Quality graded at Tyson beef. This will give us an opportunity to see how Rister Farms Beef will rank with other elite programs from around the county. Will was sad to see the calf he raised leave on the trailer, but now waiting to see the results.

Will dropped his angus steer off Sunday for the national carcass competition. They will deliver them to the Tyson plant and then we will get the results at closing ceremonies on Friday

Great week with great people

23 Angus breeders from across the U.S., Canada and Mexico recently wrapped up their time at the 2026 Beef Leaders Institute. The program offered a five-day, in-depth look at the beef supply chain, from genetics to retail, and encouraged leadership development within the Angus breed.

Day 3 of BLI at bulk head meets that is part or Sysco. Then finished up at ST genetics. About to start day 4 at certified Angus Beef

Beef Leaders Institute with the American Angus Association. Day 1: A day getting to meet all the face at the headquarters building and recap all the programs. Day 2: Tyson beef packing plant ( no pictures were allowed but this was 35 acres under roof as part of a remarkable system).
Second stop of day two was the Weborg feed yard. Then a plan ride over to Ohio for day three.
