SEEING THROUGH A NEW LENS …
As believers the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is celebrated daily, moment by moment. We have to be careful getting caught up in the world fighting over their Pagan Holidays. Am I going to my cousin’s church today, yes. Am I knocking what people in general do, no. Most just go along with whatever the main stream is doing. Bunnies. Eggs. Etc. You’re actually celebrating SPRING SOLSTICE.
I am guilty of being detoured off the path myself. Maybe not the Pagan religion stuff. But, in the same way … I found myself at a concert last night because I like a couple of the artist’s songs and realized after the one song he played called “Sunshine Girl” everything else was about smoking and s*x on repeat. But, that 8-0-8 thump was so good … I mentioned to a girl sitting next to me “wow that bass really rattles your soul.” I was totally sucked in.
I was fighting to have fun after the first song. I really had to sit in my conviction when a friend said, “I like the music but I didn’t like any of his words.” And guess what … WORDS MATTER. Words are doorways to your MIND, the MIND is a doorway to your HEART, WILL, and EMOTIONS —-> and that’s your SOUL. Words become beliefs. Beliefs become ideologies. Ideologies become the foundation of how we live.
Yet what’s most important is that the gospel is being preached. God is being glorified. People are being loved. Evil is being called out. In 2016 after being baptized again, as much as I’ve preached and lived out the gospel of Jesus … it’s these small ways. These little things that come up that always bonk me right back to the foot of the cross and truth.
Enjoy your day with friends and family. But, it’s probably not about Easter at all. It’s surely about the resurrection of Jesus today and the PASSOVER is Monday April 22nd. ❤️🌺
Colossians 3:1-4
”Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.“
