Please please please if you use h**p for wellness email your representative to urge them to veto the bill. Only 2mg of THC per package will destroy the h**p industry. It is the deltas that need to be eliminated bc they are chemically altered. Pure plant medicine grown for wellness should not be illegal!
The Virginia Senate and the Virginia House have returned both SB 542 and HB 642 to Governor Spanberger without incorporating any of her proposed amendments to the bill. Consequently, she is now faced with the decision to either sign the bill in its current form or veto it. Both bills pose a significant threat to the Virginia h**p industry by imposing a 2mg THC limit per package and establishing a retail cannabis market in which the Virginia government will exercise overbearing control over market participants. If enacted, these bills would have a profoundly negative impact on numerous beneficial natural h**p wellness products currently available in Virginia, effectively shutting down the h**p industry in the state. Furthermore, these bills would contribute to a heightened police presence in the cannabis sector within the commonwealth. This development would represent a step backward for cannabis rights in the state, primarily benefiting corporate interests from outside Virginia.
For these reasons and others, we are urging Governor Spanberger to veto these bills and instead adopt a free market approach as the template for the emerging h**p and cannabis industry. Until a genuine free market and low-tax approach to legalization is implemented, coupled with the complete decriminalization of cannabis, the black market will continue to dominate the demand for these products in Virginia.
