It is absolutely unreal how the government doesn’t understand the cannabis plant and how they are literally banning plant medicine. CBD oil is such a powerhouse and is literally the only thing that works for many of our clients. Restrictions like this are destroying the h**p industry and leaving many without the healing they need. What a mess 😞 if you feel inclined, please email your state representative and speak of the helpful aspects of CBD so they can begin to understand h**p better.

Today’s favorites I found in the garden and woods 🙂

lots of things are starting to develop and it looks like a wild jungle everywhere! It’s a random assortment of baby bottlenecks, zinnias, chamomile, Roma tomatoes, cucumbers, dill, pumpkin, and bush beans to name a few. I wanted to be strategic and have intention with what I grew this year, but it’s still sort of chaos… of the most beautiful kind 🥒

Black Raspberries 🌱 About 8-9 cups! I hope to get about double of this tomorrow when I go out 🙂 I grew up with my dad turning these beauties into jam… using a screen from the window to mash them. I’m going to try my hand at jam 🤤

H**p is on the line… again. Full spectrum CBD products with more than 2mg of THC could become illegal… or fall under the strict and expensive ma*****na laws. It seems as if the legislators still do not understand the differences between various cannabis products, their uses, safety, and efficacy. If you use CBD, please send an email to your representative how you use it, why you use it, and how the 2 mg cap will destroy all small h**p businesses.

Since we entered the agricultural world six years ago, the one constant standing in our way has been the government. We’ve pushed back, checked all the required boxes, and have continuously persevered through over legislation. Now, restrictions and obstacles are coming from another angle. It’s all overwhelming and seems impossible but we aren’t giving up.

The rapid rise of data centers is becoming a public health concern – and it’s not just about water usage.

A realistic farmers market dinner for a busy family of seven. One of the hardest things about homesteading is the meal planning. We still live with one foot in the modern world, our children are super busy with sports, friends, and jobs. Feeding everyone healthy is still important regardless of how busy we are but we have to keep things simple.

Shiitake mushrooms from Hawksbill, carrots from gooney bottom farms, homemade marrow broth Kyle froze into cubes, pork loin from a friend, herbs from the garden. I threw everything in the crock pot for amazing smells all day. Farm fresh, quick, and we were still able to spend the day on the farm completing chores and doing all the drop offs and pick ups of kids!

We had our first surprise birth on the farm 🐐

Daisy appears to have been pregnant with twins since December! We are so excited to welcome the doelings and we plan on allowing daisy to establish her bond with them before we attempt milking. We looking forward to having fresh goats milk again!

Thanks to cold temps, our later than usual planting might not be a bad thing 😅 we’ve got our two oldest graduating in less than a week (😭) a teen who needs driving practice, a fourth teen who is still in the middle of travel basketball, and a very busy & demanding toddler.

This life we chose is not easy. It seems like we are battling the weather and government at every level. But we persevering. Real food and medicine is important to us. Our farmstand is nearing completion and we are so excited to share things from our farm with the community!
