Meet Rodney Hawkins

When it came time to launch our employee spotlight series, multiple managers all pointed to the same person—Rodney. After 33 years with Southbend, it’s easy to see why.

Starting at just 24, Rodney has grown across departments into a leader on the floor, now managing his own half-size convection oven line. He’s known for his problem-solving skills, his willingness to jump in wherever he’s needed, and the way he helps train and support those around him.

But what really sets Rodney apart is his attitude. He brings positivity to every shift and has built strong friendships across the entire team—someone people genuinely enjoy working with.

“I like what I do,” Rodney says—and it shows.

We’re proud to kick off our employee highlight series with someone who truly represents what Southbend is all about.

From prep to plate in record time!

Our chefs are putting the 27-gallon Firex Figaro to work, turning out a Philly Pork Sandwich that hits every note—tender, savory, and stacked with flavor.

Slow-roasted tradition meets modern pressure cooking:
Thinly sliced pork shoulder, sharp provolone, and garlicky broccoli rabe (or spinach) piled onto a crusty seeded Italian roll, finished with rich pork jus.

What normally takes 3–4 hours was done in just 45 minutes inside the Figaro. Same depth of flavor—fraction of the time.
