We incubate eggs during storm season here. It affected us the first year we lived here and I was incubating peafowl during a power outage.
We bought a generator year 2 just to run incubators during outages. And it was so worth it. Our power just went out and we have a heat lamp on some chicks, one incubator running with some eggs in it, and one being used as a hatcher with 2 VERY special new arrivals! 💚

Our flock of Sebbies reminds us family is about love, not genetics.
They took their adopted goslings (I hatched and raised inside) for their first field and pond adventure. They didn't even lay these eggs. 😉
Geese do blended families right! 🪿 ❤️

We had our vet, Marks Animal Hospital, LLC, out to help with a job I hate today, and she brought along Bryer, a Vet Student who works with her in the Summers.
The official procedure was ear tagging. The unofficial procedure was lamb cuddling. I think it is safe to say Bryer has a fondness for these little Valais Babydoll F1 lambs! 🐑 🥹❤️

We THOUGHT it was a good idea to buy these spools and set them up in the goat yard as a play station. It was NOT.
So now we are taking them apart by hand and tractoring them out to the burn pile. Y'all the insects on these things are like fear factor. 😨
At least the chickens are getting a snack.

Well, I've got a couple more reels to post ASAP for this bonus, which buys a little feed, so they will be posted. 😂
This one is a story of 2 barn cats living with birds. People asked me if I was worried about getting barn cats when I have birds living out there.
Um, no. With a Rhea, Geese, and a swan I am more worried for the cats! 😂
