We spent the day with a great group yesterday full of chefs, foodservice representatives and Creekstone Farms. Meeting people who genuinely care about where beef comes from is always incredibly refreshing and also rewarding! It’s a great reminder of why we work so hard to produce the best beef. They made it known that it’s definitely appreciated!

We were fortunate to spend an afternoon with The Giraudi Group from Monaco and a couple of friends from Creekstone Farms Premium Beef. They enjoyed the tour and all of our high-quality cattle from our high quality customers. Thank you all!

The house Cliff was saving was one of our ranch houses, and he also helped save 30 of our cows and calves, all while his house was burning! Not knowing what they had lost, I called his brother, Kenneth, and asked if I could run my cows into his pasture across the highway and he said certainly, get them over there. Cliff stopped the fire going to the house and then stopped the fire as we moved the cows out. It was after all that that he went to his own house, and saved it. Mary and I are so blessed to have friends like the Moyer’s and live in the community we call home.

The generosity just hasn’t stopped. I know we’ve said it previously, but it’s just amazing to experience it firsthand.

Our partner of more than 20 years, Steve Hilker Trucking, Inc. coordinated their drivers, most of which had never hauled hay before, to haul more loads than I can remember to several ranchers within the area. To top it off, he still made time to haul our fat cattle to the packer and be ready to load at the sale barn on a moments notice.

Matt Schaller with Ag Community Relief came all the way from Michigan! He teamed up with Hilker and ran load after load of hay and supplies for the last week and smiled the entire time.

Jimmy Clark, of Elk City, organized 5 semi loads and 7 trailers.

Lyness, Pittenger and Cofer families, from Fort Worth, delivered 5 loads.

Mark and Kim Copenhaver, from Fowler, KS, donated the homemade meals you see pictured.

And then Lake Cattle Co. and the Triple Crown South Devons families sent in donations for protein tubs as well as our local fire departments.

Again, thank you. Thank you for everything! I know we, and everyone else, won’t ever forget this. 🙏🏼

Last week we delivered milk replacer and calf feed to the Orphan Calf Relief program! It was all donated by Richard Rapp and ADM. 🙏🏼

If you know someone that could use milk replacer or rough and ready 14% pellet feed, which is good for all livestock, especially calves, please call us at the Feedyard. We have a few bags left that we can give away! (580) 698-2271.

It isn’t a secret or a surprise to anyone that there are amazing people within the ag industry. We all know that we come together when it’s needed, but despite knowing that, it’s still pretty humbling when you experience it first hand, especially after a crisis. We have 11 calves that now needed to be bottle fed and we’re happy to say that Jessica Reed teamed up with the Orphan Calf Relief Program to coordinate for both the Opitz family and the Thompson family to take them in. Their families will bottle feed them for us until they’re ready to come home. It’s what they do! The organization is all voluntary and donation based. They are feeding about 35 calves right now. 🙏 This was the nightly report telling us that everyone was doing great.

We’ve heard so many stories of people stepping up to help, even from thousands of miles away. We’re all blessed to be part of communities and an industry as a whole that never hesitates.
