SEPTEMBER DROP: Caramel Apple Latte

Caramel and apple over espresso, finished with cold foam. Sweet up front, a little tart underneath, warm all the way down.

Tastes like the first cool morning of the season.

Here is who it supports.

In February 2018, Westerville lost Officers Anthony Morelli and Eric Joering in the line of duty. The community showed up for their families the way it should have.

Two retired officers, Mike Pavolino and Mick Yinger, saw what happens after that. Support pours in when a first responder dies. It is thinner for the one who finishes the shift, drives home, and does it again tomorrow.

So they built First Responders' Bridge. Retreats for first responders and their spouses at no cost to them, run by people who have lived it.

All September, 10% of Drop sales go to that work.

Grateful for evenings like this.

Three Creeks Church threw a block party right behind The Well tonight, and half the neighborhood showed up. Bounce houses, kids running around, neighbors catching up over coffee. This is exactly the kind of evening this community does well.

Being trusted to serve coffee at something like this, hosted by the same folks who gave us a home inside The Well, means more than a caption can really say.

Today is Military and Veterans Day at the Ohio State Fair.

Veterans and active military get in free with ID, today and any day through August 9th. If you’ve been putting off a visit, today’s the day.

It also happened to be our last morning here. We spent the week inside the Ohio Agriculture Center serving coffee for Grounds & Grapes, and this fair has genuinely outdone itself this year. If you haven’t made it out yet, go. It’s worth it.

AUGUST DROP: Coconut Latte

Warm, nutty, and a little sweet. Notes of toasted coconut, vanilla, and a pinch of salt, balanced by smooth espresso.

Handcrafted with coconut we toast in-house before it ever becomes syrup, this one tastes like the tail end of summer in a cup. Easy, familiar, and still grounded.

August is the last long stretch before the year starts turning toward fall. Slow mornings. Warm evenings. Ordinary days.

And then there are the days that do not stay ordinary.

Stephen Siller was an off-duty firefighter on his way to play golf with his brothers on the morning of September 11, 2001. When he heard the towers had been hit, he turned back, strapped sixty pounds of gear onto his back, and ran through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel toward the smoke.

He gave his life getting others out.

His family took a phrase passed down from their parents, let us do good, and built a foundation around it.

Throughout August, SGT Coffee Co. is proud to support Tunnel to Towers Foundation, with 10% of August Drop sales going toward its mission to provide mortgage-free homes to catastrophically injured veterans and first responders, Gold Star families, and families of fallen first responders, while also working to end veteran homelessness.

Meet The Overwatch Partnership.

Tomorrow morning, 10:30 to 12, right here at The Well.

All month, our Cherry Pie Latte has been raising funds for The Overwatch Partnership, a Columbus nonprofit that mentors veterans through the transition into civilian careers. Tomorrow, we're bringing them through the front door.

Stop by, say hello, hear what they do, and see what your coffee has been supporting all month. No pitch, no pressure, just a table and a conversation.

Grab a Cherry Pie Latte while you're at it. This is exactly the kind of morning The Well was built for.

Ohio’s Lieutenant Governor stopped by, and so did the Director of Agriculture.

Jim Tressel and Brian Baldridge visited our booth at Grounds & Grapes this week, right here inside the new Ohio Agriculture Center.

Small moments like this are exactly why we show up for things like the State Fair. A veteran-owned shop from Gahanna, standing shoulder to shoulder with the people building out Ohio agriculture, for a morning of coffee and conversation.

Grateful for the visit, and grateful to be part of this showcase all week.

SGT Coffee Co. is headed to the Ohio State Fair, serving coffee mornings July 29th through August 2nd, 8 to 11 AM, at the brand-new Ohio Department of Agriculture Center.

We're proud to be part of the Ohio Proud lineup this year, one of just a few coffee stops on the entire fairgrounds. If you're heading in early or working the grounds before the crowds arrive, we'll be the ones with the espresso machine running.
