This Saturday, July 27th, a two-mile interpretive walk will highlight management and conservation by the two agencies. Representatives from the National Park Service, Virginia Department of Forestry and Virginia Cooperative Extension will discuss the region’s forests, fields, wildlife and history.

The free walking tour will start at the Brawner Farm parking lot at the Manassas National Battlefield Park. From there, the Snyder-Jones connector trail will be followed between the Battlefield and into the Conway Robinson State Forest. Transportation from the Conway Robinson State Forest will be provided back to Brawner Farm.

People participating in the tour are strongly encouraged to bring proper walking shoes, long pants, sunscreen and plenty of water.

Virginia Link to Education About Forests (LEAF) summer intern Ashley Little organized the event as a part of her internship requirements. Virginia LEAF is a partnership of the Manassas National Battlefield/National Park Service, the Virginia Department of Forestry, Virginia Tech College of Natural Resources and Virginia Cooperative Extension. This partnership promotes natural resource education by utilizing venues that promote heritage and recreation.
