Gator football is back, baby. 🐊🐊🐊 There’s a new coach, a new energy, and that familiar delusional(?!) optimism we get every single August.

And with football comes one of our favorite traditions: Kickoff Fridays are back too. Every Friday before a home game, we’re kicking off the weekend early with live music in the beer garden, and this week that means yacht rock legends Bully For You (David Graham) taking over Friday 9/4 from 6-9 PM. Smooth sailing into game day, basically.

Speaking of game day: Saturday we’ve got UF vs. FAU up on the 16 ft. screen in the beer garden, kickoff at 7:45 PM. Come watch with us, or grab beers to go for your tailgate. Either way, good beer belongs at the party.

Let’s talk about David Hunter Turner and the wonderful humans behind it for a sec.

For the past several years, if you’ve cracked open one of our cans and thought “damn, that label goes hard,” that’s OFV. They’ve been the hands behind our can art, making our beer look as good as it tastes. Plus they’re the folks behind much of our sweet event art, too!

But the Back to Swamp Bash this Saturday is about more than good design. It’s an homage of Florida’s natural beauty and those who help conserve it. AND it’s a fundraiser for year 3 of the Old Florida Vibes Scholarship, which supports students studying art activism, environmental communications, climate change, water quality, wildlife conservation, wild land management, and recreation, so they can go make a real difference in protecting the earth.

Thursday, bookgram brings Between the Pages to the Drift Patio: an evening with Lauren Groff, community partners, and the reveal of our Gainesville Reads keynote speaker (yes, we’re excited about that one too). Live music from Thomas Allain

Friday, our monthly Art Walk rolls through with live music from Damsel, plus local makers doing what they do best! 6-9 PM.

Saturday, David Hunter Turner brings Back to Swamp Bash to the brewery featuring conservation conversations, a Reptile Preservation Institute experience, an art market stacked with local artists, live music, and Sausage for Scholars, all in support of the Old Florida Vibes Scholarship fund!

Democracy is thirsty work. 🗳️🍺

Today’s the day, Gainesville! Florida’s primary election is happening right now, polls are open until 7pm. Get out there, cast your ballot, then swing by the taproom with your “I Voted” sticker for a free pint of one of our core beers. On us.

Here’s the thing about primaries. They don’t always get the hype of a big general election, but this is where a lot of the real decisions get made. Local races, county seats, the people who decide things like your property taxes, your schools, your roads. These are the elections that shape Gainesville day to day, and turnout is usually low, which means your vote carries even more weight.

So go vote. Then come tell us about it over a beer. That’s the whole plan.

Who’s ready to get far out and funky? 🤙🙋‍♂️

Air… the element of movement, of things floating just a little above the ground, and honestly, that’s exactly the energy we’re going for at Far Out Funky Friday — the second stop on our four day, twelve year celebration! and if Wednesday’s dinner was about slowing down and getting grounded, tomorrow is about drifting, wandering, following the music wherever it takes you.

Live jazz and fusion carry the whole evening, the kind of music that gets a beer garden moving without anyone really deciding to dance, it just happens.

🎷 5:00 PM — Atbash Atbash — A jazz fusion collective
🎷 7:00 PM — Jose Piñeiro Trio Jose Pineiro Trio — Three musicians, one avant-gardeJazz sound.
🎷 8:30 PM — Aisle 14 noëlle cunningham — A fusion jamband to close out the night.

An intimate lineup of local makers on-site for our Far Out Market; expect to leave with something you didn’t know you needed. Food trucks Caribbean Spice and Verde Spice will keep you fed all night.

Plus we’ll have a sneak preview exclusive release of Czech 1, 2, our anniversary Czech Dark Lager, on tap and available in cans tomorrow. Get a head start before Saturday’s big lineup drops.

Twelve years of practice and this might be our best lineup yet! 🍻 Here’s a first look at our packaged anniversary releases, the full taplist is still under wraps, so stay tuned 👀 We’ll let the cans do the talking for now.

MERCURY IN RETROGRADE 💧 — Tart Cherry, Coconut & Lychee Sour. Our Water release, kettle-soured wheat ale brewed with tart cherries, lychee, and coconut. Mercury is usually solid until it melts into liquid, and when it’s in retrograde, everything goes a little wild and unpredictable. Feels about right.

CZECH 1, 2 🌎 — Czech Dark Lager. Our Earth release, a collaboration with local Hogtown Brewer Allen Kent, recreating his BOS award-winning Czech-style dark lager! Notes of baker’s chocolate, a little dark fruit, and a lightly spicy hop finish. Na zdraví! Grounded and rich, just like the day it started it all.

COSMIC FATE ✨ — Sour Ale with Brett, Apricot, Plum and Lemon Zest. Bright and tart with fruity flavors and aromas of pluot and apricot jam, naturally carbonated with honey for a crisp carb and a boost of farmhouse yeast esters.

FLORIDA HEAT 🔥 — Mango + Datil Pepper Hard Cider. Our Fire release, made with Alphonso mangoes and infused with peppers from Mayhem Datil Pepper Farms. Sweet, tangy, and more than a little spicy, heat earns its place in the name.

SPECIAL DELIVERY #12 💨 — Hazy IPA. Our Air release, grapefruit, dankness, and ripe guava explode from this one, brewed with Nectaron, Citra, Anchovy, and Nelson Sauvin hops. Our classic air mail label makes its return!

All five hit the taps and shelves Saturday, August 15th at noon, along with our tap only releases right as our 12th anniversary celebration reaches its biggest day yet: Written in the Stars!

Five bands, a DJ, and a full day of energy to match, plus food trucks and our full anniversary merch drop rounding out the day.

It’s our birthday week! 🍻🥳 We’re kicking off our 12th Anniversary this Wednesday, August TWELFTH with our VIP Down to Earth Dinner - sometimes things are just… written in the stars!
�Grounded, before everything else takes flight, this intimate and exclusive dinner + pairing experience is one you’re not gonna want to miss. Seats are still available, but only just.

Five courses, curated by our friend Danny over at Loosey's along with our Head Brewer John, each paired with an anniversary beer and guided pour by pour by John and Production Manager Eric.

Begin the evening with buttermilk ricotta crostini and charcuterie paired with Cosmic Fate, our sour ale with Brettanomyces, apricot, plum and lemon zest, followed by grilled pork tenderloin paired with Czech 1,2, a Czech dark lager. Green tomato gazpacho paired with Special Delivery #12 Hazy IPA is up next followed by jerk grilled chicken paired with Florida Heat cider with datil pepper and mango. Complete the evening with an olive oil upside-down pineapple cake paired with Mercury in Retrograde tart cherry, coconut, and lychee sour for dessert. 🍽️🍺
