Willem Johnson - Texas Winemaker Everybody has a calling…mine is w**e, everything from vine to venue. Co-owner & W**emaker at Deschain Cellars, W**ery & Lounge.

My 20 plus years as a sommelier and w**e buyer for fine restaurants in Vail, Colorado and Nantucket, Massachusetts and a few years on the sales side of a beautiful portfolio of Italian w**es allowed me the opportunity to travel around the United States and Europe tasting w**e. These trips fed a passion for w**emaking that started when I decided to spend a couple harvest seasons in France working as a “cellar rat”. I honed my w**emaking in Vail for 17 years making w**e for a private w**ery and now have the pleasure of making w**e full-time at my own w**ery, Deschain Cellars, W**ery & Lounge, in the North Texas Hill Country. My favorite part of the job is helping individuals find the perfect w**es to satisfy their palates. W**e is just grape juice that knows somebody. If you like what’s in your glass, that makes it good w**e.
