Hope Valley Farm Duck Rescue and Sanctuary Located Galien, Michigan. Domestic duck Rescue. Most ducks are adopted to approved safe and loving homes, or they enter the sanctuary.

I figured I would know by the end of May if we would be able to keep the Rescue part of operations open, and I do. I am closing the Rescue and will not be taking in any new ducks. We simply cannot afford the extra feed, bedding and definitely not the vet bills since my husband retired. We have all the same bills to pay as everyone else does. I've been grappling with this for a long time. It's not what I wanted but facts are facts. It would be unfair to any new ducks coming in to not get the proper care they need because of lack of funds.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us thus far, I appreciate you so much. I'll still be here posting about the Sanctuary ducks, answering questions and helping to educate people. 🦆❤️

Just put up a shade net for the ducklings. Which aren't really ducklings anymore 😕. I highly recommend using them. You can find them on Amazon.

Let's do a little experiment.

Day 1: Poor yourself a big glass of water, and make yourself a big bowl of food. Now, go set it outside on the ground. Leave it there. That is now your only source of food and water, and you cannot fill either of them yourself. You have to wait for someone else to show up and do it for you. See where I'm going with this?

Day 2: The water is now dirty from debris, and you're running low. The food has gotten wet, is also running low, and it's getting really hot out. No one shows up to replenish for you.

Day 3: There's so little water you barely get a sip, which is really disgusting and warm. The flys have found your wet slimey food. Would you eat it? Probably not. But an animal who's thirsty and hungry would.

They deserve better. SHOW UP.

A look inside the Sanctuary Barn. We do a basic clean out once a week, and major clean, including power washing every 2-3 months. Disabled ducks have their own pens and constant access to fresh water and food. They are taken out daily for pool time, and then go into their own outside pen in the grass, where they have constant access to fresh water and food. While outside, the inside pens are cleaned, so in the evening they are put back in a fresh pen. If you would like to help , I still need someone for Monday's, Tuesday's, Thursday's and Friday's.
