We work hard as a family to raise the best show goats we are able to, with a very modest budget. I know those two things do not always go hand in hand. But we have been very selective with the few does and bucks we have purchased or raised over the years (most documented on this page). The past breeding season we unfortunately ended up with only 5 does kidding. For a small operation like ours that could have been very detrimental. But as the saying goes make lemonade out of lemons and that is exactly what were able to do.
Of the 10 kids we had, we lost one, had 6 end up at our county fair, sold 2 Bow Down doelings and retained a 3rd. So the results below are frankly superb considering we were not able to be very selective.
This past week the hard work was on display again at our county fair. Which needs to have many breeders, family's and individuals complimented for the quality and depth that was exhibited this year. Our county shows have grown so much in the last several years. The shows are as competitive and deep as they have ever been. Which gets us excited for the future and the opportunities that are continuing to develop for the youth in our county.
With that said I wanted to highlight the sucess Fletcher and Emery had this past week.

We are lucky to be able to both consultant with and the past two years do some breeding with Jacob Kirkland at Kirkland Livestock. We are so greatful for his expert help and advice.
Funny how things are circular. We helped Jacob breed his very first boer does with our first buck. That he kidded for market weathers. He has sure grown, excelled and found success and again we are thankful for him and his help.
