I'm always looking for safe, effective, eco-friendly and sustainable options in all aspects of my consumption, not the least of which are my cleaning tools and products. Who would've thought wool would be able to be used as a dish sponge?!

Benefits:
*Wool exhibits natural antimicrobial properties.
*No tearing or crumbling away.
*No foul odors.
*6 months-1 year of use
*Wash with soap and water, wring out, and allow to dry.
*Non-synthetic fiber that doesn't shed microplastics.
*Compostable! When the sponge needs to be replaced, bury it in your yard or garden.
*Cost effective: 2 wool sponges for $10.

In the spirit of hospitality and sharing what we have, the children's book, Always Room For One More, is a sweet story of a Scotsman, his wife, and their ten wee bairns who live in a "wee house in the heather". They welcome travelers on a stormy night, feed them, and make jolly. How his grateful guests say "Thank you" provides a warm ending to this tale of kindness.

Daily life that is fueled by homemade, nutritious meals is rich. Those meals don't require a ton of effort ... maybe a little forethought and shopping, but not a lot of effort. Chicken with Tomato Tarragon Sauce is an easy weeknight meal as well as an elegant offering to dinner guests. It starts with browned chicken, continues with cherry tomatoes and pearl onions, and ends with beautifully seasoned tomato tarragon gravy. Put on some French music and enjoy this French-inspired, one-pan deliciousness.
Tarragon vinegar is hard to find, The Cupboard Collective carries a beautiful one made by American Vinegar Works. They ferment the tarragon along with the chardonnay wine which creates a vinegar with tarragon flavor throughout but without the sharpness of the herb.

When the weather starts heating up, a nice iced coffee is a great pick-me-up. I've typically brewed coffee as usual, then poured it over ice, but a cold brewed version makes a lot of sense! You just scoop the coffee grounds into the organic cotton filter, pour filtered water over, steep for 12-24 hours, et voila! I love to sweeten with maple syrup and top off with a bit of milk. You'll enjoy a a smoother taste because of the lower acidity as compared to hot brewed coffee. Doesn't that sound lovely?

Summer holidays are coming up which means cookouts and picnics are sure to happen, right? You can't have a cookout without mac 'n cheese being on the menu! Why not try it with gut-friendly Sourdough Pasta available at The Cupboard Collective?
