It is with great sadness that we report that Lavasseur Family Farm will be closing. We have been so fortunate as a family to live and grow here on the farm, and we've been honored to share that with many of you. This is not goodbye, but rather see you later. We will be back, it is just a matter of time. Thank you to everyone from our loyal friends to each one-time passer-by, who've continually shared in our adventures, triumphs, and failures. This has truly been the experience of a lifetime for each one of us, and we look forward to getting back here, and getting back to work on the farm!

Things are busy on the farm!

Thank you so much to all of you who helped us sell down our ridiculous surplus of eggs! We're back to normal once again. But that doesn't mean we're out! If anyone is interested please, as always, let us know and we'll get them to you. The chickens are putting out about 2 dozen per day, and we only eat about a dozen per week, so that's 13 dozen per week for sale! Our regulars only consume about half of that, so there's plenty to go around! Also, in about a month or two our newest members will begin producing, so that will up us to at least another dozen per day!

We have hams!!! I almost forgot to advertise that! If you are looking for an Easter Ham, look no further than Lavasseur Family Farm. We have a limited quantity, but if you're interested please send us a message and we'll make the arrangements to get it to you. They are $6/pound and they range in size from 4 -9 pounds. Most of them are big, so if you're looking for a small one act fast!

IT'S OFFICIAL: We have mixed feelings about it, but we're officially raising the price of our eggs to $4/dozen. I know, I have to change the sign! We are, however, extremely happy to know that our eggs will be even healthier now, and so will the chickens. We must be doing something right around here since our three year old chickens are still producing. They have been on the new food for some time now and I have to say the chickens are doing very well. If the price increase means that we lost you as a customer I am sorry, but my gut says this is the right move. We will begin sales at the end of the driveway soon, so look for the sign and cooler on the weekends!

We would like to poll our faithful customers on a decision we need help making. We are considering switching our laying hen feed from a GMO-free grain complex, to one that is GMO-free with Organic Soy. Nearly half of the grain in their feed is soy, and there are a ton of health benefits to be gained by using Organic Soy instead of just GMO-free. The drawback is that we would have to do what we said we would never do, raise the price of our eggs. We would have to raise them to $4/dozen. So let the voting begin!

Does anyone know someone in the area with a snow plow that could help us out for a reasonable price? We have a miserable mess in our driveway that I cannot remove with the snow blower.
