The exhausting life of a show bunny 🤣

All the spoils when the handsome boy gets home. He had some free roam time munching on grass before being tucked in.

What a fantastic and fun weekend with friends at the Greater Pittsburgh rabbit breeders show and Butler RBA show. While the drive is always long I love seeing everyone out there.

Overall we had a couple solid days. My Dwarf Papillions were by far my best place breed. The spots did average against some pretty tough competition.

Kay did great with her rhinelanders and spots. She’s really doing a great job with both!

I also may have purchased a new set of ears for the barn. Anyone wanna take a guess with this beautiful new girl is?!

Buck

This little one has so much potential however when it comes down to it his brothers beat him in a space to stay. He is super sweet and would not stop meerkating. He would pair better with a big brood doe. You can definitely see the resemblance between him and his dad.

Doe

This doe still has lots of maturing to do. She is a great bun she peaks a little far forward.
Unfortunately her sister beats her in overall quality. With going through and getting rid of the majority of my rabbits later in the year unfortunately the young ones who don’t have as much potential as their siblings are getting the boot. Overall decent doe just not meant for my barn.

I could not be more proud of all of the district 9 youth holland competitors! They all showed such dedication this year and built some true friendships along the way!

This year Kay wanted to be competitive with hollands but would have settled for any placement in the final sweepstakes. However she completely rocked it! She placed 1st in the D9 standings, 28th overall in youth, and 15th overall quality! This is such an amazing accomplishment in such a competitive breed.

Now that im feeling a little more human after 3 exhausting days at PaSRBA I can’t wait to highlight some of our accomplishments.

First though I want to give a shout out to all of our rabbit and cavy friends! It was such a refreshing much needed reunion. It reminded me just how much we love the rabbit community and everyone involved!

Now to the logistical part 🤣 we had a blast at PaSRBA overall everyone did fantastic! I couldn’t be more proud of Kay, Piper and Brad for their accomplishments and hard work.

First a huge congrats to Kay who gave it her all in the PaSRBA royalty contest where she placed a competitive 3rd. She also took 3rd in presentation, judging and Showmanship!

Next a huge congrats to Brad for his RIS placement with his American satin boar Otter. He also managed to snag a couple BOB and a BOSB for his American satins.

Piper also gets a huge congrats! She managed to get BOSB with her Jersey wooly Kiwi. She also had some excellent placings against a very competitive holland group and in her Jersey Wooly classes.

Kay did fantastic on the Show tables and I’m sure I won’t even get all of her highlights. She managed a BOB with fireball at the Youth holland lop specialty, some solid placings in the very competitive holland group all three shows, a BOB with her new dwarf papillon George, BOB and BOSB with her rhinelanders in shows A and C, BOSB with her rhinelanders in show B, BOB with her new black English spot doe, and BOSB in the rare breed rhinelander class!

I managed some really solid placings as well. I did fairly well with my English spots getting a couple BOV and BOSV as well as a BOSB with Moana. I also managed a BOSB in dwarf papillons for show B, BOSB and BOB dwarf papillons for shows A & B.

Overall it was a fun filled weekend! Can’t wait until the next show when we get to see everyone again.

And I just realized I took next to no pictures 🤦‍♀️🤣

PaSRBA is starting to feel real now that entries are in. This is by far one of our favorite shows and the best part is it's local to us! Looking forward to seeing all of our friends at the show and being back on the regular show circuit.

To those who happen to be wondering our entry count for rabbits is 50 rabbits between 3 exhibitors 🤯

Now just to weigh and enter cavy
