👋 Lots of new followers! Let’s Reintroduce Ourselves!
Hi, we’re the Oldenborg family, owners of Outlaw Butchering in Garden City, Minnesota. We officially opened our doors in May of 2025,
and this truly is a family-run business.
I’m Taylor, and I handle most of the advertising, and Facebook communications. If you’ve sent us a message online, chances are you’ve been talking with me!
Our son Wyatt (2½ years old) takes his job very seriously. He’s the foreman of the cutting table, helps box up meat, and enjoys helping load customers out whenever he gets the chance.
Our daughter Maddi (6 months old) is our official greeter and loves welcoming customers with a smile at pickup time.
At the heart of Outlaw Butchering is Cody, our butcher and owner. Cody was born and raised on a hog and cattle farm near Lake Crystal, Minnesota, and graduated from Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial in 2010. After graduation, he worked in construction before discovering that butchering was where his true passion belonged. Growing up helping his father and grandfather process their own livestock made the trade feel like a natural fit.
Cody began his professional butchering career at the Vernon Center Locker, where he spent nearly a decade honing his craft. After the locker was unfortunately lost to fire in 2021, he transitioned into the HVAC industry. However, many local farmers and customers continued encouraging him to open a locker of his own.
In 2022, we decided to take the leap and start building our dream. Cody completed much of the construction himself, spending countless nights, weekends, and early mornings working toward what would eventually become Outlaw Butchering. There were plenty of blood, sweat, tears, and sacrifices along the way, but we couldn’t have done it without the incredible support of our family and friends. We are forever grateful to everyone who lent a hand, offered encouragement, or helped make this dream a reality.
The name “Outlaw Butchering” comes from Cody’s childhood nickname, and today we’re proud to be a fully licensed custom butcher shop serving southern Minnesota.
We’re thankful for every customer who has trusted us with their livestock and supported our family business. We look forward to serving local farmers, hunters, and families for years to come.
