Irm's Girl Blue Smoke kidded tonight. She did a great job! One lovely little mini nubian. But here's the important question.

If Mom is Blue and its berry season, I think farm law clearly states that she must be called Blue Berry? 🫐🐐Right?

🐐 Jollity Farm Garnet Too 🐐

We would like you to meet the hard working girls behind your favorite cheese, soap & lotion. First up is this sweet girl Garnet — a 3 year old Experimental Alpine registered with ADGA. And honestly… she may be proof that we don’t always make the best business decisions, because sometimes we lead with our hearts. ❤️

Now, Garnet is NOT our biggest producer. (I know… you can’t milk personality. 😅)

But what she lacks in production, she more than makes up for in charm. She’s one of the friendliest girls in the herd and has the kind of personality that makes visitors fall in love with dairy goats in the first place.

Garnet is the last daughter out of Mica, making her Coral’s granddaughter — and yes, this family line definitely has a mineral theme going. 💎

She’s kidded twice so far and already has one daughter in the herd: Sapphire. This spring she surprised us with TRIPLET girls, and we’re keeping one of them here at Jollity Farm (still working on the perfect name). The other two girls headed off to another dairy to start their own stories.

Some goats earn their place with the milk pail. Some earn it by stealing your heart. Garnet somehow manages both. 🩷

A quick market update for our Davis customers:

Charley will be missing the next two Saturdays at the Davis Farmers Market while he spends some time closer to home at the Garden Valley Farmers Market.

If you’d still like cheese, soap, or lotion during that time, you’re always welcome to visit us at the farm stand or place an order for siap & lotion through our website.

Late last night, Irm’s Girl Lily brought QUADS 🐐🐐🐐🐐 into the barn.

And true to goat-mama form, she handled it completely on her own. By the time we spotted them on the barn camera, all four babies were cleaned up, warm, and already nursing like pros. 💛

We’re very glad we at least moved her into the kidding pen before bed last night. She was a few days early, but with four babies packed in a tiny lik goat, that’s not too surprising.

Everyone is doing great this morning, and Lily absolutely deserves the “Super Mom” title today. 1 Doe and 3 bucks.
