Savory Gourmet is a specialty food distributor and importer based in the Los Angeles area focused on bringing the highest quality foods from around the world to the best kitchens in the Southern California region. From imported European cheese, to Italian olive oils, to New Caledonian blue prawns, Savory Gourmet scans the globe for the most interesting and exceptional foods to keep our local menus interesting.

Savory Gourmet is currently looking to hire someone full time for a position in the customer service department.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Office Responsibilities:

• Receptionist duties
• Answer Phones
• Review emails
• Enter sales orders and provide detailed customer/sales follow-up - Ensure accuracy in entering orders, paying special attention to codes and lot numbers
• Invoicing/process credits, assist with accounting inquiries
• Generate shipping labels (FedEx, UPS, etc.)
• Resolve product or service problems (customer complaints)
• Liaison between our sales reps and our warehouse
• Book freight with shipping companies
• Resolve any customer issues or complaints

We are looking for a person with the following qualities:

Detail Oriented

• Able to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable with excel and numbers.

An enthusiastic team player

· Ability to get along well with others while fulfilling required duties without compromising desired results

· Proactive in proposing ideas and solutions to our daily challenges: we are a small team so your input will be heard and is welcome to help us improve as a company.

Extras :

· Knowledge of the Hospitality industry, especially in the Southern California region.

· Knowledge of import and customs operations.

· French, Spanish or Italian language skills.

· Knowledge of specialty foods including but not limited to: baking ingredients, cheese, charcuterie, oil, caviar and more.

Specialty food knowledge is a plus, but the requirement is an enthusiasm for specialty food and a willingness to learn and pursue specialized knowledge regarding our product catalog.

Full Job Description
Petrovich Caviar is a B2B caviar specialist located in Gardena, in the south of Los Angeles. Our sister company Savory Gourmet is one of the main importers and distributors of top-quality food products in southern California.
We source caviar directly from the farms and we work nationwide with luxury hotels, restaurants, and caterers since 1998. We offer competitive employee benefits including medical/dental/vision/life insurance, 401k, holiday, and vacation pay.
Position Summary:
- Responsible for caviar reception: making sure we have all the necessary documents.
- Responsible for repacking caviar following our good manufacturing practices and safety standards.
- Responsible for entering information into our traceability database.
- May have to make last-minute deliveries for some key customers.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and company policies and procedures.
- Fill in for other warehouse employees as needed.
