Shearing Day 2023! Our dairy flock got haircuts, thanks to the expert hands of .. and then our fab helpers — Fern, Carl, Judy — sorted through the wool to select the best parts of the fleece for making yarn (a process called ‘skirting’). A good day indeed! Wool blankets coming this fall! 🐑🐑🐑

Last call for Willow Pond sheep yogurt! This yogurt has been a big hit between May and October, but now the dairy sheep are naturally slowing down in milk production, as they do every fall. This Sunday is Willow Pond's final day of yogurt sales, but Carrie and Brent will return on November 13th with delicious cuts of pasture-raised lamb and mutton, just in time for the holidays!

Because we milk the sheep *and* make the yogurt at Willow Pond, you will often see lights on in the creamery when we bring the ewes inside for morning milking… Brent arrives at the creamery at 4:30 am (!) and Carrie milks the sheep a bit later. Today the sheep went right past the creamery, unaware of the delights being produced with their precious milk! 🐑🐑
