A huge thank-you to Anna Pageau of Silver Anchor Farm for joining us in the barn once again this past weekend for an educational and creative class on essential oils and aromatherapy! 💜

Guests learned about different oils, their uses in aromatherapy, and important safety precautions — then got hands-on, blending their own custom creations to take home. Everyone received samples of our l. angustifolia and Grosso essential oils, as well as their own personal bottle of our fan-favorite Lavender Mist to use in their creations.

As the Nevada representative of the National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy, Anna brings a wealth of expertise to her teaching, with a focus on the safe, informed practice of aromatherapy.

Missed this one? Don’t stress — we’ve got one more class in September, focused on winter wellness and strategies to stay healthy through the colder months ahead.

We have been working on our Pollinator Steward Certification through the Pollinator Partnership for a few years now. Today we officially became a Certified Pollinator Steward 🐝

What this means is that we have been intentionally building habitats for native pollinators on our lavender farm.

We also have been working to educate others on the importance of our native plant and animal species through our tours and workshops.

To learn more about this program, or how you too can become a Steward, visit pollinator.org 🐝

Join us for our last lavender U-Pick of the season! Our bigger plants are in bloom and waiting for you to trim them! Use this type of lavender for sachets, crafts, and infused aromatic oils. Visit with some vendors, as well!

We look forward to sharing the day with you again before the blooms are gone.

Note: Due to the recent heat, we’ve shortened the ending hours from 2:00pm to 12.30pm. (New time is 8am to 12:30pm) If you haven’t reserved your time yet, please do so before all times are taken.

Thank you for your continued support and love of lavender 💜

“En plein air” is a French expression that became synonymous with the Impressionist movement in the 1860’s. It literally means “in the outdoors” but is used more specifically to describe painting in the outdoors while using natural light to capture the subject matter.

We’ve invited local plein air painters to enjoy the lavender these past few years. Now, we invite you to take a Guided Plein Air class this Friday evening with returning artist, Ashley Mavon.

Tag a friend and reserve your spot! It’s going to be fun!

✨A YEAR OF PROGRESS✨

Around this time last year, the Sierra Shadows team took on the challenge of turning a field of sage brush into a beautiful lavender field. Here are some photos of the process, including drainage tests, clearing the property, installing our irrigation systems, and the 3,000 lavender starts that are starting to green up. We are looking forward to spending lots of time among the blooms this summer! 💜🪻🪻
