We produce pesticide-free Microgreens in the heart of Garner, NC for restaurants, CSAs, farmers markets, and produce delivery services. WHAT ARE MICROGREENS?
​Tiny Veggies with Massive Nutrition and Flavor

Microgreens are tiny vegetables and herbs that are harvested at their maximum nutrient density, at the formation of the first "true leaves" of the plant. In 2012, a study published at the University of Maryland concluded that microgreens contain between 4 and 40 times the nutrient density of their full grown relatives. Thus, a tablespoon of raw microgreens is a full serving of vegetables. In addition to their superfood properties, microgreens pack tremendous flavor into a small bite. The team at Sweet Peas Urban Gardens believes that urban farming is fundamental to the creation of healthy, sustainable food production for our growing metropolitan society. As more folks flock to revitalized inner cities and neighborhoods, the demand for locally produced fresh food is expanding, catalyzing a re-evaluation of the potential of these traditionally non-agricultural landscapes. Our chickens live their best life outdoors with plenty of sunshine, fresh air, and room to forage. One of them even opts to overnight in our pecan tree. Happy, healthy hens mean richer yolks, better flavor, and superior nutrition for your table.

community volunteer project. We’re getting creative and working on plant identifier tags for the garden (like the photo, but cuter)! Bring your creativity to help make the garden beautiful and easy to navigate. No artistic experience? No problem at all! Come for the community and get to know the garden.

Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just looking to meet some new friends we’d love to have you join us. Come help grow something beautiful with your community—and then stick around for a well-earned drink!
