Wes and I have always been drawn to historic homes so when we found ourselves the lucky owners of one built in 1836 we were thrilled. We started researching to learn about the people who lived here and the ways the property changed over its 190 years. We scoured photographs left by past owners and tried to imagine what life was like for the families who cleared, worked, and enjoyed the land before we arrived.

In many ways the heirloom tomatoes we grow here are living history. We try to imagine what life was like for the 19th century farmer who grew the same brandywine tomatoes that we have in our field today. We think of the seeds that were handed down through generations similar to the photos that have been handed down to us. They simultaneously hold memories and hope.

We are loving this adventure we’re on and are really enjoying meeting new friends at the Garrettsville Farmers Market and Geauga Fresh Farmers' Market each week. We pick tomatoes daily to fill our roadside stand. If you stop by you can also pick up some pure maple syrup from , another local family. And check out our Saturday barn sales from 9-3, weather permitting. 7521 State Route 82, Garrettsville. Cash and Venmo accepted.

We hope to meet you soon.
