Thank you so much to everyone who stopped my this weekend at market and all summer long. We may be going into fall but there is still plenty of time for fresh flowers, and local fruits and veggies.

This weekend we had a few inquiries about dried pumpkins and even about holiday wreaths! Yes we will have our dried floral pumpkins again this year, and yes we can do them for your parties, showers, and weddings. Holiday wreaths will also be available as we get closer to December.

Thank you so much for the continued support, the recipes, the plants, and the kind words.

See you all next weekend for Labor Day weekend.

Do you like working outside? In the dirt and sunshine? Im looking for some planting (and maybe some weeding and harvesting) assistance this coming month.

Ive bought and had seeded more plugs and bulbs than i think i can handle. Perfect for someone needing flexibility in their schedule, or only available for a few hours here and there.

Must be ok with working in the dirt and weather. Mostly working on your own rows of planting. Planting 1000s of plugs is hard work being on your hands and knees. But i would so appreciate any assistance i can find.

**would be a great way to see what we are about if you think youd like to work next summer with us in the gardens*

Message if you are interested.

Lambs due in five months.

It might sound easy and not a big deal that we put our rams in with the girls but this was months and years in the making.

When you figure the time it took to find rams from good farms with the qualities we need. Going out last year to Illinois to bring them home. Raising them for a year, getting their first lambs on the ground and evaluating them. And to think that the breeding taking place now is going to result in the lambs that fill the freezer and for sale in the 2028 market season. And yes I know some have a hard time wrapping their heads around the reality of how meat is grown and put into the freezer. But this is the reality of it. We have beautiful lovely sheep who produce beautiful and lovely lambs that we grow into beautiful and tasty lamb meat. And we put alot of time and effort into raising healthy and happy sheep for whatever time we have them.

This is farming, this is local farming happening in your community. Months and years of planning, working, waiting, and then if all the stars align and mother nature cooperates we have food.

Its crazy how much planning and time and work goes bringing food to the table. So remember your farmers who are planning already what they need to plant, or breed, or make in order to bring food to your table next year(s) all while still harvesting and raising this years crops.

Make your own bouquets are back this weekend at the Lewiston Market. We have a ton of blooms to make yourself something special from our homegrown flowers.

We also have our pasture raised lamb, we are down to one box of snack sticks left! We still have a little bit of our goat meat available. We also have duck eggs.

Elmwood will have pre-made bouquets as well as cherry juice concentrate, and fruit.

Its a busy week at the farm!

While the summer flowers (and fruit) are starting to really get into production, weve been trying to get some behind the scenes projects done. We finally (like 13 years of waiting....) got our new cooler! And when you are married to a fruit grower things just look a little different. David found me this re**er to utilize, and I cant wait to start filling it up! Yes, Ill need to grow alot of flowers to fill this up.

The very last of the seeds are being sown for fall planting. And I can honestly say I didnt touch one seed. My wonderful and amazing helper Deb did all my seeding work this summer. So next year you all will need to remember to send up some thanks to her when you get some of our bouquets.

The first group of ewes will be going in with the rams on Monday night, and then lambs in 5 months! We are absolutely loving what our new rams last year produced and cannot wait to see what this next crop of lambs looks like. Between conformation, growth, and honestly personality we have a really nice group of lambs this year.

Next up is finish up some weeding and start planting! And maybe, finally, at last get that darn greenhouse up and going.
