Fjellhest Stødig | 2026 Registered Norwegian Fjord C**t

Stødig is the kind of Fjord youngster we love to raise—confident, level-headed, curious, and very people-oriented. He has an exceptionally quick mind, enjoys learning, and approaches new experiences with curiosity rather than reaction. He is developing into a kind, sensible c**t with plenty of personality and a wonderful willingness to engage with his people.

Born April 4, 2026, Stødig is now weaned and ready for his new home. He is halter trained, ties, trailers, and is good for handling his feet. He is right where we want a five-month-old youngster to be.

Stødig is an embryo transfer foal from our much-loved mare Lajoki—a pairing we wanted enough to make a little extra effort for. Imported from Germany, Lajoki embodies so much of what we value in a Fjord. She is exceptionally intelligent and capable, but also level-headed, and non-reactive. She will happily relax and take life as it comes, yet when asked for more, she has plenty to give. Had Stødig arrived as a filly, there is little doubt she would have been staying in our breeding program.

His sire, Brigg’s Sunnyside Nemo, is a son of the talented and versatile Norwegian stallion Brigg. Nemo contributes excellent breed type, versatility, and the steady, willing temperament we value so highly in our horses.

We see many of those same qualities emerging in Stødig. He has the makings of a Fjord who can be an enjoyable, trustworthy partner while still having plenty to offer as his education progresses.

Bjarte is the first one to show up in the pasture when it’s time to be caught—not because he has to, but because he genuinely wants to come “play” and see what we’re doing that day.

His education is already well underway. Bjarte wears tack, has been long-lined, and has been to his first show, competing successfully in the two-year-old in-hand division, including showmanship, halter, longe line, and In-Hand Trail.

The trail class was the highlight for us. Bjarte had never seen anything like the course before, but he simply went to work—calmly and confidently tackling the unfamiliar obstacles put in front of him.

That experience really summed up this young horse: look, think, try.

Bjarte has the temperament we treasure in the Norwegian Fjord—sensible and steady without being dull, curious without being reactive, and genuinely willing to work with his person.

At 14.0 hh already and expected to mature around 14.2 hh, he has the size and substance to make a wonderfully versatile partner. Trails, driving, dressage, working equitation, or an all-around family horse—there are a lot of directions this young gelding could go.

Most importantly, he has the personality to become somebody’s best friend.

His education is progressing, and his price will increase accordingly. Bring him home now, continue his education, and enjoy building that partnership from the beginning.

WHR Tulla (11-6662-M) is a 15-year-old registered Norwegian Fjord mare looking for the next chapter of her life. She is sound, retired from our breeding program, and is available only to a non-breeding home. Standing ~14.2 hands with plenty of bone and substance, she is equally well suited to youth and adult riders. Over the past year she has been successfully shown by a youth rider, proving herself to be a kind, safe, and enjoyable partner both in and out of the arena.

This mare is beautifully educated and incredibly versatile. Whether you ride English or Western, Tulla works comfortably one-handed, responds to subtle seat and leg aids, and is happy schooling First Level dressage movements. She has countless trail miles and genuinely enjoys getting out. Water crossings, bridges, beach rides, camping, and new places are all part of her extensive résumé. She trailers beautifully, has impeccable ground manners, and is simply a pleasure to have around.

Her personality is what truly sets her apart.

Tulla knows she’s well educated. She appreciates soft hands, a balanced rider, and clear communication. Heavy hands or rough riding earn little more than an offended expression and a quiet reminder that she was taught better than that. She is patient with riders who are genuinely learning and thrives with people who value good horsemanship and want to continue developing their own skills.

She would be equally at home with a motivated youth rider, an adult amateur, or a family looking for a versatile partner to enjoy dressage, clinics, trail adventures, beach rides, and years of partnership. Tulla has so much to offer and genuinely enjoys having a job.

If you’re looking for a horse to simply carry someone around with no interest in learning or improving, she probably isn’t your girl. But if you’ve always wanted a horse that truly understands her job and rewards thoughtful riding, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a finer partner.
