The Toad Lily has bloomed…fall has officially arrived! We have waited all summer, watching you grow, knowing fall is when you would open your unique blooms! Toad lilies are a perennial of Japan where they grow along the river banks. They love shade and open when temperatures get cooler. Our plant is probably going on ten years old and never fails to provide us with these lovely small blooms. Happy Fall, Y’all!

Our precious Spring has died. A gentle goat who never pushed her way into the forefront, she was known to wait her turn for... anything. Matter of fact, we had trouble finding pictures of her as she was always in the background...loving to be petted. She died with a smile on her face...her goat smile. Today’s harvest…heirloom tomatoes galore! Some are splitting due to high heat and nightly showers after we have watered in the morning. My, are they tasty! Next tomato dish will be an Edisto tomato pie! How are you using your tomatoes?

Today’s harvest after a week of rains! Under the heirloom tomatoes, squash, cucumbers and our first okra (can’t wait to eat it!) is a half basket of Blue Lake green beans…our second picking! Thank you for your excellent product!

Our Story

Heritage working farm founded in 1926. Birthed on our farm, 100% fed on grass, Black Angus beef raised without added hormones or antibiotics. Christmas trees, wreaths and family activities offered the weekend before Thanksgiving until sold out. Sorghum cane made into sorghum (molasses) syrup using old timey methods produced in the fall, weather cooperating. Agri-educational programs for groups taught by Farmer Tim and Farmher Gwen year round.
