The August garden is wild & over flowing with flowers. The dahlias that were planted last(aka late) are just starting to bloom. Some of last year’s favorites were in that group & I’m so happy to see them again. BQ Compare especially, last photo.

Socials are quiet but it’s anything but that on the farm. We are consistently tearing out old beds of spent flowers to replant with the next succession or to prep for fall planting. The next few weeks we will be starting seeds for next spring’s flowers, crazy right. A note about next spring, we are skipping tulips. Sorry tulip lovers, I just can’t😂

Leaving a few August flower photos for you. First photo is Sweet Sanne & Sweet Nathalie.

I can’t say thank you enough for all of the support this season🩷

🌻The winner from Facebook is Elizabeth Nelson!

*The number of stems in the bucket was 125!
I totally would have lost, I guessed 121 before counting them. Jason guessed 85, so I did beat him🤪

*Locals only please. The prize is a bouquet and I haven’t figured out how to ship them..yet.

I have snapdragons coming out of my ears, and this bucket is completely full. To celebrate the 4th we want to give away two bouquets. One here & one on facebook.

Quick rules.

*Locals only please.
*Only play if you can pick up the bouquet this weekend at the Kingsport farmers market before 10 am.
*One bouquet per winner. You can comment here and facebook but you can only win one. The second bouquet will go to the next closest guess.
*No delivery
*To win you must guess how many stems of snapdragons are in the bucket in the photos shown above. The person closest without going over wins! If you go over then you lose. Game show rules.
*Guess by commenting on this post
*One guess per person, per social site please. So two total if you want to do instagram & Facebook both.
**Don’t get scammed, I will never email you or ask you to click anything weird. Winner will be posted here Friday around noon. I will only contact you from this account. I will edit this post with the winner and reach out to you through direct message on the social you win on.
*Most importantly, have a great 4th of July and thanks for all of the support this season💚

Last few weeks on the farm in photos. Lots of dahlias & seedlings. I have at least a few seedlings that I plan on keeping and there are some that still haven’t bloomed yet. I have lots of purple ones, Jason’s favorite color.

We are at the Kingsport Farmers Market every Saturday this season. Come by & see what’s blooming each week! Lots more dahlias to come, they have only just started.

It’s been a busy couple of weeks, let’s play catch up. Mother’s Day was unbelievably busy & we appreciate all of the support. We had help from our market helper Abby & flower friend . Ashley made bouquets nonstop & brought some amazing peonies. Without their help we would not have been able to pull it off. Hoping next year we have even more local flowers for you to choose from & it all runs as smooth as possible😅

Spring flowers have been the best we have ever grown with a few curve balls thrown in to keep Jason on his toes. The ranunculus pumped out the stems for us & I can’t forget about those 6 foot tall delphinium. It seems like so long ago already and it’s hard to believe summer flowers are about to start already. Yep that means dahlias.

We will have more dahlias than we ever have this year but I have added a lot of new ones & said goodbye to a few oldies. Cafe au Lait is one that was cut, but reconciliation is always on the table. Still friends🩷

Lots of markets to come & our summer subscription starts in June. Plenty of time to sign up. We should have a lot more flowers starting in June and will be setting up our build your own flower wall like seasons past. Mostly we are just so appreciative of the continued support over the last few years. I know times are tough and you have lots of options🥹 Thank you so much for always showing up for us, we notice & it keeps us going on the rough days.

A few random photos thrown in of Mother’s Day breakfast & my favorite person in the world galavanting through Europe. I hope your May has been as good as ours, but less buggy, sweaty, & worky.

Another spring week on the farm has ended & it was a big one for us. Unfortunately we missed the first Saturday of our market season but we will definitely be there this weekend & every weekend after. It was such a big week that I overdid it and hurt my back. I’m fine now, just had to rest for a couple of days. Lessons were learned😅

The flowers look amazing and everything is on track for a huge Mother’s Day. We will be taking preorders on our website soon & I will post as soon as it is ready. We will still have lots of grab & go bouquets and arrangements ready at the market on the Saturday before Mother’s Day. We should have plenty but come early for the best selection.

We set up last week at Asbury Place for the second year in a row & saw a few familiar faces. The smiles the flowers brought was amazing & I can’t thank Julia enough for always supporting our farm💜

Lastly and most happily I announce that I am officially done shipping tubers & cuttings for the season. Other than a few local orders, which can be picked up this weekend at the market. I want to thank every single person who ordered from us, whether 1 tuber or 18 tubers. It was a great dahlia year and I shipped out over 400 orders. I appreciate the patience and understanding for shipping times and any hiccups along the way. One woman tuber shipping show here, Jason has to keep up with the planting & maintenance. It was crazy and I’m so grateful for the continued support over the years. Next year I plan to do things a little differently but tubers will still be available.

I’ll leave you with a few photos from last week and I can’t wait to see our local friends this Saturday. And yes that is a dahlia seedling already blooming! It’s not a keeper probably but still happy to see it.

This week on the farm. Maybe I can make weekly posts a thing, I’m going to try. This week I am down to my least favorite wash cloth. That means I have been so busy laundry has come to a standstill, spring on a flower farm is just that way. April is a blur but a good blur. I have missed the chaos & this winter seemed extra long.

What’s blooming? Tulips are finishing up and the last round of wholesale tulips are heading out Tuesday. It’s been fun but I’m ready to say goodbye to them. Maybe forever😂 Poppies are still poppin’ for a couple more weeks and next up are snapdragons & stock (my 2nd favorite flower). Also blooming are ranunculus, delphiniums, & sweet william.

Market update. We will be back at Kingsport Farmer’s Market this season starting April 25th. We will be there every Saturday 7am until we sell out. Fourth year at this market and I feel like a broken record saying this but, it’s going to be our biggest season yet! We have so many amazing flowers for our flower friends this year. Can’t Wait!

Mother’s Day update. We will have the most options we have ever had. Big, small, cheap, expensive, & all the things in between. I will be posting about some pre-order options very soon.

Hope spring is treating everyone good & I’ve attached a few photos of what’s been blooming the last couple of weeks. Last photo includes some flowers from our flower friends in our Virginia growers group, Terry & Liza. See all you locals soon!
