Our ducks aren't just something to look at from a distance. They're incredibly friendly and love being around people.

Watching a Nora become the center of attention for an entire flock never gets old.

One of our goals at Wilderness Valley Farm has always been to create hands-on experiences where kids (and adults!) can connect with animals in a way that's fun, safe, and memorable. Whether you're 5 or 95, these feathered friends are always happy to make a new friend.

Need your help!
This year, we’re opening Wilderness Valley Farm to school field trips, homeschool groups, daycares, and youth organizations.

The challenge? We need help getting the word out.

If you know a teacher, principal, daycare director, homeschool coordinator, PTO member, or youth group leader, please tag them in the comments or share this post with them.

Word of mouth is powerful, and one tag could help us connect with a classroom looking for a fun and educational day trip this fall. And we’re excited to give kids a chance to learn outside the classroom!

We're honored to support Deanne and her sheep, Cash, as they prepare for the 2026 Otsego County Fair. From daily care to countless hours of dedication, the bond between a young exhibitor and their animal is built on patience, responsibility, and heart.

It's a privilege to cheer on the next generation of agricultural leaders who carry on traditions that strengthen our communities and remind us of the value of hard work.

Wishing Deanne and Cash a memorable fair filled with great experiences, new friendships, and plenty of success in the show ring. We'll be rooting for you every step of the way!

We're excited to sponsor Brooke in this year's Alpenfest Queen Pageant and help support one of Ga***rd's favorite traditions.

Harvey our resident reindeer is showing off some serious antler growth already, and he's just getting started.

Did you know?
• Reindeer antlers are the fastest-growing bones in the animal kingdom.
• They can grow up to an inch per day during peak season.
• Unlike most deer species, both male and female reindeer grow antlers.

By the time fall rolls around, Harvey's antlers will be even bigger and more impressive. We can't wait to watch the transformation!

Farm Project Alert 🚨

We’re trying to build something absolutely EPIC for the farm this year… a giant slide. 😅

Like… 75 FEET long kind of epic.

We’ve been going down the Pinterest rabbit hole looking at custom slides built from:• giant PVC pipe• culverts cut in half• custom plastic liners• tubing systems• and all kinds of crazy farm-engineered creations 😂

The problem? A lot of these materials seem surprisingly difficult to find online in the sizes we’d need.

So I figured I’d ask…

Does anyone know:
- where to buy large diameter PVC or culvert pipe?
- industrial suppliers?
- better materials we should consider
- someone local who has built something similar?

If you’ve seen an awesome setup somewhere, drop photos, links, ideas, or tag someone who might know.

The goal is simple: Build one of the coolest farm slides kids (and probably adults) have ever ridden. 🚜🔥
