Reminder that Strawberry Flats is closed. Please stop by The Back Twenty Farm Stand for local farm raised vegetables, flowers and soap/loofas! Sweet Corn season is fast approaching! Drive down as you would for Strawberry Flats and instead of turning right, you will turn left!
Well - here we are. It’s about time we answer the “what IS The Back Twenty” question now that the sign is up. 😅 What started as a search for four or five acres turned into a dream purchase of 21, which we’ve lovingly dubbed “The Back Twenty” : one acre for the house and 20 for farmin’.
As conventional row-crop farm kids with jobs in “big ag”, we truly love agriculture of all shapes, sizes, and strategies - although it was admittedly intimidating to plant our first row of firs in 2021 ( this property has been a Christmas tree farm since 1978). Fast forward to 2026… we’ve added a u-pick sweet corn patch with support from our gracious neighbors of Strawberry Flats fame. As a small FAMILY farm, it’s rewarding to grow our business and raise our kids here on the homestead.
“Yeah but, what IS it?” It’s our farm. It’s our home. It’s our livelihood. We hope it invokes feelings of nostalgia, respect, stewardship, and community within agriculture.
