Hello! My name is Laura Crichton, founder of Red Gate Farm Academy. My dream since I was a little girl was to someday live on a farm with lots of animals. My husband Mike, being quite the outdoorsman, shared my dream of moving out to the country. After living in the suburbs all our lives we wanted a change and some elbow room. In May of 2015 we started building Red Gate Farm. The farm was completed in April 2017. Once moving on to the farm, we acquired goats, chickens, rabbits, ducks, sheep and a donkey. They all live harmoniously with our horses and two big goofy farm dogs.
Tucked away in Geneva Florida, Red Gate Farm is a quiet little place, built with love and determination. Away from the suburbs and city, Red Gate Farm is a relaxing retreat where we are able to just "unplug" and enjoy nature. Visitors can't get enough of the wide open spaces, peaceful sounds of nature and the charm of all the animals who reside on the the farm.
My vision is to share my love and knowledge of farm animals with children of all age by providing an educational experience - with a fun twist. Everyone loves to meet farm animals at petting zoos and pony parties, but you can actually learn how to care for them at Red Gate Farm. Here we take kids through real experiences of farm chores; from feeding the horses, to grooming the bunnies, to playing with the goats. Once the chores are done, kids are encouraged to run and play in the wide open space and enjoy all nature has to offer. We have a place to bring a picnic lunch, play horseshoes or just sit on the porch swings.
