We were up to 5 - then lost one - now we have 5 again with this new baby!
The one who passed on overnight was Hopeman - they were half the size of the others with curled toes, wouldn’t peck or eat, would only drink when we assisted every couple hours. We were hoping he would turn a corner but nature decided. Can’t survive like that. So, we will have a nice ceremony for Hopeman.

My husband already knew I was gonna be a sucker for their crying. So, their comfort is my hand. They refuse to leave it when I put them down and run as fast as they can to it when I invite a cuddle. These are precious little dependent beings - emotionally. Instinctively they can survive by feeding and drinking on their own. Emotionally they need tenderness, warmth and consistency to trust and not live in fear.
I’m not a sucker for crying - I’m a sucker for longing.
