HRO update 9/2/26

We have been busy picking, sorting, and bagging Honeycrisp! We are planning their 2026 debut for this FRIDAY 9/4!

We’ll also have Honeycrisp CARAMEL APPLES.

You can also catch us at the Genoa City Farmers market tonight from 3-7!

And if you miss us in Kenosha, we’ll be at Columbus Park on Saturday from 8-12.

August has begun, which means we’ve started to pick Zestar! And, yes, the trade name has a “!” In it. 🍎

Another blue ribbon summer apple that’s known for being perfectly sweet AND tart, incredibly juicy, and perfect for eating and baking later on. 🥧

We’ll have Zestar! available beginning August 21, 2026 at 9:00 am. See you then!

Milton (McIntosh x Yellow Transparent) is an early season heirloom variety that is best eaten right off the tree!

This apple is part of what makes our first batches of cider so tart and refreshing. Once picked, it makes some of the smoothest apple sauce, or can be used with other apples for a summer apple crisp.

Milton won a blue ribbon in 2024 at the Walworth County Fair, and they grow on 100 year trees!

While the apples are busy ripening, we’re busy with a new outdoor retail layout. No more white carnival tent! The driveway has been shifted to accommodate more space adjacent to the main market alley.

We often feel crazy ambitious starting these projects so late in the year. There’s still pavers to be laid and an awning to be installed. It’s always evolving, and it’s the raw reality of how our farm functions.

Pristine at Golden Hour. This apple rarely makes it to opening day but is the perfect early season apple to get us in the harvest spirit.

Current views facing south on the east side of the orchard. What pleasant weather.
Included amongst these rows are our first KinderKrisp trees, planted in 2016. Seems so recent.. wait a minute, that's a decade ago!!
