First cut flowers of the season are out on the farm stand! 🌸

The rain delayed us a bit today, but we’re officially open and stocked up with these beautiful, fresh arrangements! 💐 Your colorful summer bouquets are ready to go home with you.

With the exception of our largest arrangement available, which is in a large standard floral vase, everything is styled in vases and mason jars selected to fit right in your car's standard cup holder for a completely spill-free ride home. 🚗

A couple of quick tips for your blooms:

💐 Our price tags are water-soluble! Just run the container under water at home and the tag rubs right off.

💐 Change the water daily to keep these bright colors looking fresh and crisp all week.

We have our QR codes ready for easy scanning, and we accept Cash, Venmo, PayPal, and Cash App. 💳💵

The day we’ve all been waiting for is finally here! Our first cut flowers of the year are officially harvested and sitting in the cooler. We’re just waiting out this rain right now, but we will have arrangements out at the farm stand starting this afternoon! We will post once available. 💐

Since these blooms are the very first of the season, some of them are a little small, so we’ve priced our arrangements accordingly from $5 to $20.

A couple of tips for when you get your flowers home:

💐 Our price tags are water-soluble for easy removal! Just run the container under some water and the tag will rub right off with your finger.

💐 To keep these gorgeous blooms fresh for as long as possible, make sure to change out their water daily.

✨️🏳️‍🌈Happy Pride Month from Rainbow Acres Farm. 🏳️‍🌈✨️

I'll be honest, I almost didn't post this year. The current political climate made me hesitate in a way I haven't felt in a while. But I had a conversation recently with someone I trust and admire, and it reminded me exactly why staying quiet is the wrong choice.

This year feels different. It doesn't feel as safe to celebrate. And that's precisely why we have to.

I grew up in a tiny rural farming town where being openly q***r wasn't exactly celebrated. When I started this farm in 2021, Rainbow Acres Farm was my way of planting my flag, quietly but deliberately, in an industry that doesn't always have space for us.

Being q***r is not a small part of who I am. It doesn't disappear because my life might look a certain way from the outside. As a q***r woman in a straight-passing marriage, I carry a privilege that not everyone in our community has, and I don't take that lightly. The rainbow and pride in my brand has always been there for anyone who needs to find it, because I needed it too. I still do.

This farm and community is a safe space. Full stop. If you are LGBTQ+, if you are struggling, if you just need somewhere that feels like home, you are welcome here. You are safe here. Your identity, your pride, and your individuality will be celebrated here. That has been true since day one, and it will stay true no matter what.

This year we're growing our pride literally. Our cut flower field is going full rainbow this season, and I cannot wait to celebrate my pride, who I am at my core, and every single one of you in this community with every bloom.

Safe spaces matter. Allies matter. Community matters. If you found this farm and felt seen here, I see you. I am you. And if you're an ally showing up for this community, especially this year, thank you. That means everything.

Yesterday was a big day on the farm - the cut flower field seeds are in the ground! 🌸

Meet Penguin, son of our beloved Bowie. It turns out the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, because he spent the entire day loafing on the tractor seat, like he owned the place.

Now begins the part where we pace nervously and baby every single seedling, checking on them approximately 47 times a day. Penguin will also be supervising that process, obviously. 🐈‍⬛️

After years of planning and a slow accumulation of plants, we finally got the start to our berry patch in the ground. Fall Gold and Boyne raspberries are our chosen varieties, with a few loganberries, all tucked in and ready to get established.

Penguin inspected every single one and has given his official approval.

We are so excited to watch this patch grow and fill in over the coming years. Good things take time!

Pulling a photo from our archives today with one of our first bouquets from this property. We've spent a few years growing and testing cut flowers here, figuring out what thrives and what we love most.

We are going all in on zinnias this year, and honestly it wasn't a hard decision. Nothing we've grown comes close when it comes to color, bloom size, and vase life. We want big, punchy, colorful blooms that speak for themselves without a lot of filler, and zinnias deliver every single time.

Benary's Giant zinnias in pink, scarlet, orange, golden yellow, lime, purple, and white are the backbone of this year's bouquet lineup. We even solved the hardest color in the rainbow by adding a blue centaurea mix, because blue doesn't just happen by accident in a flower field. We'll have some sunflowers in the mix too.

Rainbow Acres Farm is bringing the rainbow to the farm stand this summer. We can't wait. Stay tuned for updates as the season gets going!

This is Bowie, our barn cat and self-appointed farm manager. He spent the afternoon supervising the tilling of the flower field from his preferred workstation on the tractor seat, and he wants everyone to know he was absolutely critical to the process.

Cut flowers are coming to the farm stand this summer, and we're hoping to add bread and baked goods to the mix too. Stay tuned!
