Good morning from some glorious hay meadow in God’s country. Blessed to call this our life!!! We’ll transition from the hay field to the ball fields this afternoon for a little R&R.

Our farm will start a new service in 2024…Trust Therapy. (We’re not licensed, just experienced!)

Rolled up on morning chores and realized I trust our cows so much that I just left a main gate open all night. Sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good! Glad they hadn’t made their way up just yet today!🤣

Got some breeding age bulls ready to go out the back door. All registered with the American Simmental Association. 2 PB Simmentals and 1 SimAngus (5/8 SM, 3/8 AN). Let me know if you are in need. Will be happy to share info as needed. One Simm will be 2 at the end of the month and the other 2 in early December. The SimAng will be 2 in January. All passed BSE and were Trich negative as of April ‘23.
Top solid blk is PB Simm, White face is PB Simm, and bottom right solid blk is SimAng.

Today was a good day! Not the outcome we wanted, but every judge has a different eye and appreciates cattle differently and we understand that we can’t always win em all! Got some good pointers and direction for change. A big shout out to the Jowers’ fam for continuing to pursue banners with our genetics. The Missouri State Fair 2023 was a first for us. It was definitely a challenge. Great people and great cattle!!! Ryker also thinks they had good lemonade and funnel cakes.

Thankful for what rain we’re getting. It hasn’t been much so far, but we’re not as dry as we were 10 minutes ago. On another note, God let us work calves before he opened the skies. Be blessed y’all! It’s gonna be a good day!

I’ve got a show family looking for some items. Specifically, they are looking for a stall chute, but I’m sure they would be open to other grooming options and equipment as well.

As graduations are upon us, if you or anyone you know are looking to rehome any show cattle equipment please get with me.

Calf is pending pickup!

Who needs a new project? One that comes with a guaranteed Return on Investment (ROI)! If you’re wondering what it is, then this opportunity is definitely for you!!! It’s a fuzzy-wuzzy, loving, attention-seeking, full of energy, pb Simmental bottle baby. This girl is looking for a new home because I just don’t have the time she’ll need or require. Let me know if you’re interested. She sucks a bottle down in no time. She’s a twin born this last Saturday that momma rejected, so we intervened.

Today’s “Did You Know” fun fact: Did you know that Guns N’ Roses was a “country” band comprised of cow-loving rockstars? Why else would they sing about a Paradise City where the grass is green and the girls are pretty! Just goes to show that everyone loves the “Front-Pasture” kind. Y’all have a good day and don’t take life too serious.

It’s always tough letting the good ones go, but knowing where they’re going and who will be taking care of them makes it much easier. I love this industry though because the Jowers family bought a steer from us roughly a year ago and had enough success that they came back for another this year. Little did I know that their daughter fell in love with our stock too. Not only did a dandy steer leave, but one of my top heifers left with him. I just can’t wait to hear and see the success from Ms. Avery and Mr. Ayden. Thank you Jowers’ fam for believing in what we’re doing at Eaves Simmental Farm.
