**********UPDATE**********
On Thursday morning, July 21st, Dad had to start on morphine. The Hospice nurse told us it is just a matter of days now. We appreciate all the comments, cards and prayers. I have been reading the comments to him, and he has been absolutely astounded by the love shown.
This is an incredibly difficult time for our family. We are keeping our regular business hours, but please be patient with us. Matt and I would like to spend as much time with him right now as we can.
I cannot thank everyone enough for all the love, support, and prayers that have been given us. We are truly blessed by God with the most wonderful customers on Earth!
We have some very difficult news to share. I was going to wait for some more test results to come back, but Dad is declining so quickly I don't think I should wait any longer. In May I took Dad to the doctor, because of some pain on his left side, and he was abnormally tired. Blood work came back showing he was anemic. Then a CT Scan was done, near the end of June which showed a large mass on his left side, 2 smaller masses around his spinal cord, and a number of other things. A PET Scan and an MRI were done last week, and they took a biopsy of the large mass yesterday. We don't have the results of the biopsy yet, but they are almost certain that he has lung cancer and metastatic cancer to the spine. Thankfully we are able to keep him home, and his pain under control. Hospice is starting on Monday. It is hard for us to believe how quickly this has happened. After losing Mom last June to cancer, I cannot even put into words how heartbreaking this is to our family. One thing we are doing, that Mom and Dad taught us so well, is to keep our focus on Jesus. He will walk us through any storm life sends our way. We appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers during this time. I know he would want all his customers to know how much he misses, loves, and appreciates them.
