Here we are, the last weekend of the 2025 season. We have 7 different varieties to offer this weekend and these are all limited quantities. We all know what it's like when that favorite variety sells out and you realize you have to wait about 365 days for that taste to return. That's the reality of this weekend. We hope to see you one last time this season!

In Store this weekend (limited quantities):

- Ambrosia
- Cameo
- Empire
- Fuji
- Jonagold
- Ludacrisp
- Evercrisp
- Fresh Cider -- stock up, can be frozen
- Dutch Apple Pies -- sold frozen, stock up

And to put a bow on this season, we would like to express our thanks to all of our wonderful volunteers who are the backbone of our operations at the orchard in every facet imaginable -- picking, processing, guiding u-pickers, selling product, making doughnuts, making pies, etc. We are grateful for each and every one of you! Thanks for making the 2025 Orchard Season such a success! We couldn't manage it without you!

Secondly, we are so thankful for our wonderful customer base -- you are all so supportive of our retirement venture! Thanks for believing in our products and spreading the word! Have a Happy Thanksgiving and a very Merry Christmas!

Looking forward to the 2026 Orchard Season, see you in August!

Thank you,

Ray and Jan

What a season it has been! It's not over yet, there are still 2 weekends to stop in at the orchard and grab a bag of your favorite apples or discover a brand-new favorite with our late season apples. Here's some motivation:

In Store this weekend (pick your own is closed):

- Ambrosia -- a more flavorful version of its parent, the Golden Delicious
- Cameo -- not your grandmother's apple, both the Golden and Red Delicious make an appearance in this one
- Empire -- this one is loud, like the entire Empire State where it originated from, another Red Delicious off spring, but has the Mcintosh as its other parent
- Fuji -- all the way from Japan...but see a trend here, this is an offspring of the Red Delicious and Ralls Janet
- Jonagold -- we'll keep it rolling here with a Golden Delicious and Jonathan offspring
- Ludacrisp -- said to have hints of pineapple, grape and strawberry. Seriously, come taste for yourself
- Rosalee -- a cross of a Fuji and Honeycrisp, with floral notes
- Pazazz -- can be found in just about any grocery store, but we can guarantee those are not "orchard fresh", see for yourself
- Evercrisp -- See Rosalee above, this is also a Fuji and Honeycrisp offspring, but a completely different taste profile
- Fresh Cider
- Dutch Apple Pies

There you have it, lots of "Delicious" and lots of "Honeycrisp" in these apples. Try something new!

Thanksgiving planning is in full effect. As we give thanks for all we have in our lives and a wonderful harvest this year, remember to freeze the apple cider and grab several frozen pies for your holiday gathering.
Store will remain open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays (7th, 8th, 9th, 14th, 15th & 16th)
November 16th will be our last day of the season
Stock up for the holidays on our frozen products, pies and cider
Stockpile the maple syrup and local honey for the winter months

The last week of October always brings with it a general excitement in the air. Kids are coming up with their creative costumes and ready to head out trick or treating. The mornings and evenings have that crispness in the air, and our trees are offering their own "crisp" treats this week.

Nearly 30 years ago the Honeycrisp apple began its notorious climb to fame, one that truly has revolutionized the apple industry since its inception. Here we are almost 3 decades later and the Honeycrisp has the satisfaction of looking at its own offspring and marveling at their own success. it's a story we can all relate to. This Saturday and Sunday, come on out to Rim's Edge Orchard for 2 of these late season apples. Two Honeycrisp offspring, the Ludacrisp and Evercrisp (pictured) are making their 2025 debut and not only do you not want to miss this, but you want to stock up now. The Evercrisp is a Honeycrisp/Fuji product while the Ludacrisp is a Honeycrisp/Sweet 16 product. Both are wildly popular and if you haven't heard of either, come see what it's all about.

In Store this weekend:

Week 10 of the 2025 harvest season is upon us and we are going strong here at Rim's edge Orchard with 8 varieties this weekend and loads of customer favorites! Ambrosia is one of our newer apples and last year the harvest was a little lower than usual. This year, we are excited this one is back and it delivers with the sweetness, the crunch, and a refreshing honey-like taste. This apple is low in acid, so it lacks that tart or sour impact you may experience from some other apples. This one is great for eating out of hand, school lunches (kids love this as a sweet treat), or this apple holds its shape well so don't be afraid to use it in baking and try leaving those slices on the thicker side.

We have to comment on this picture here of an Empire apple, hanging ever so close to this bird's nest. The nest is ready to catch this apple once it falls from its branch. Mama bird is in for a surprise when she returns!

Also, this week we would like to take a moment and celebrate Sophie and Dom on their engagement that took place at Rim's Edge. Congrats to the couple and thank you for allowing us to be a part of this amazing day! You planned the moment just right young fella, kudos to you and we wish you both nothing but the best in all the years to come!

In Store this weekend:

- Crimson Crisp
- Cortland
- Royal Cortland
- Pazazz
- Rosalee (Starting Saturday)
- Empire (Starting Saturday)
- Ambrosia (Starting Saturday)
- Jonagold (Starting Saturday)
- Fresh Cider (heat some up for your Trick or Treating adventures)
- Dutch Apple Pies
- Apple Cider Donuts (Sat & Sun only)

Pick Your Own (Sat & Sun):
- Empire
- Royal Cortland
- Jonagold

Introducing Pazazz!

Two weeks ago, we introduced our newest apple, the Riverbelle! This apple was a huge success and will be one of those apples people will be asking about at the start of next season. And if you remember, the Riverbelle is from here in Wisconsin, specifically Holmen. Well, this week we have our second new apple of the season at Rim's Edge Orchard....and again, it's from here in Wisconsin!

The Pazazz apple will be available for the first time at Rim's Edge Orchard this Saturday and Sunday. This apple comes from Eau Claire, it's a cross between a Honeycrisp and an unidentified apple. As another descendant of the Honeycrisp family tree, some would expect this to pack that same type of punch the Honeycrisp brings. However, the Pazazz is an incredibly well-balanced apple. This apple is known as a "Jolly Rancher", one might say its initial flavor is that of a watermelon Jolly Rancher. The Pazazz has started to show up in some grocery stores, but there is no comparison to the orchard tasting experience. We are so excited to see how customers respond to this one.

In Store:

- Honeycrisp
- Gala
- Crimson Crisp
- Cortland
- Royal Cortland
- SnowSweet
- Pazazz (Starting Saturday)
- Pears
- Fresh Cider
- Dutch Apple Pies
- Apple Cider Donuts (Sat & Sun only)

Pick Your Own (Sat & Sun):
- Cortland
- Royal Cortland
- SnowSweet

Wow, what a change a week makes. Fall temps jolted us this week...are we spoiled with the weather we had this September and this first week of October?? That's right, it's October! The crisp mornings here are a reminder that colder days are ahead, but we will take those overnight lows in the upper 40's and 50's, it's good for these apples!

To remind us the calendar flipped to Autumn in September, we have our stock of pumpkins available for you to select from. These have been brought out of the muddy pumpkin patch and are our sitting right outside our front door on the grass. No need for boots or trying to plan around any potential rain. Pumpkins of all shapes and sizes. Squash too! Stop by to get into the decorating season!

Our new apple this week is the Crimson Crisp! While not new to us, it is newer and we've been harvesting this one that last few years, and this one tantalizes the tastebuds at both ends of the spectrum. Not only do these have a solid crunch, but they also have a crisp texture and are known for their tartness. The tartness will hit you, with that subtle punch right after picking from the tree. However, once off the tree this one continues to do its work inside and it will sweeten up on you if left on the counter for a few days. These are smaller apples and store well, perfect for eating out of hand, packing in lunches and as a salad topper.

In Store:

- Honeycrisp
- Crimson Crisp (starting Saturday)
- Gala
- Cortland
- Royal Cortland
- Pears
- Fresh Cider
- Dutch Apple Pies
- Apple Cider Donuts (Sat & Sun only)

Pick Your Own (Sat & Sun):
- Crimson Crisp
- Gala
- Cortland
- Royal Cortland

The scenery is really looking beautiful. If you have the time, come take a drive out by Rim's Edge Orchard!

10/03/2025

This one is for the die hards, the purists, those who value that taste they've savored for decades! This is Mcintosh weekend! That's right, those of us who look fondly on the "good ol' days". The Mcintosh still packs a punch and has that crunch, and that flavor will not fail you. Without a doubt, this will remind you of Autumn! We have Mcintosh, Linda Mac and Ruby Mac...something for everyone!

And as Autumn has arrived, so too have our pumpkins. Pumpkins of all sizes!

In Store:

- Honeycrisp
- Gala
- Cortland
- McIntosh
- Strawberry (starting Saturday)
- Fresh Cider
- Dutch Apple Pies
- Apple Cider Donuts (Sat & Sun only)

Pick Your Own (Sat & Sun):

Looking forward to seeing you this weekend!

Introducing RiverBelle!!

We grow apples from all around the globe. We have New York apples, New Jersey, Michigan, Washington State apples, Ohio, Minnesota, even apples from Europe and the Far East. So when we can get a new variety that originated right here in Wisconsin, this is something we have to make note of. But with a taste profile like the Riverbelle, we don't just call attention, we celebrate this one!!

Brought to you from Holmen, WI which is just north of La Crosse and near the Mississippi River. This apple descends from the Honeycrisp lineage. While Honeycrisp is not a direct parent, RiverBelle has many of the same distinguishing features. It has that sweet, tart balance, the crunch, the juice, it's great to eat out of hand and while many say it may not have the same crispness of the Honeycrisp, it is still a very crisp apple and packs an "explosive" flavor profile. This apple has some unique elements, with some tropical and floral notes, it is also said to have hints of cane sugar, lychee and even a hint of vanilla caramel. For those not familiar with Lychee, it's an Asian fruit/berry that is often used in jellies or even boba tea due to its sweetness. The flavor of a Lychee can be described as floral, pear, strawberry, and watermelon. How about them apples!! Come see what the excitement is about with this newest variety, from right here in Wisconsin!

Alright, we're just going to jump right out of the chute with the Sweet Maia this season. We introduced this apple last season and kinda eased into it with one of our first harvests. But this season Sweet Maia is now positioned right within the starting lineup.

This apple, named "Sweet Maia" after the Midwest Apple Improvement Association who brought it to market (see what they did there?) is a cross between the Honeycrisp and the Winecrisp. While you most likely won't find any wine in the apple, you will find the quintessential apple with a beautiful red hue with a "candy-like sweetness". It's a summer apple that possesses a crisp, juicy texture similar to today's more popular apples due in large part to the Honeycrisp parentage. This one is wonderful for fresh eating, lunchboxes, after school snacks and filling the house with a fresh apple scent when baking on these crisp and cool days! Give this one a try, it will be in the running for favorite early season apple!

In Store:

- Sweet Maia
- Zestar!
- Ginger Gold
- Paula Red
- Sunrise
- Peaches
- First cider press of the season!
- Donuts

Pick Your Own (Sat & Sun):
