Attention Farmers!

We are very excited to be hosting an Advanced Grazing Workshop with the one and only Greg Judy Greg Judy next month!

About the Event:
September 15th, 8:30am-4:00pm for an Advanced Grazing with Greg, the multi-species grazing expert of Green Pastures Farms. This event is geared toward folks with grazing experience, but beginners are welcome. You’ll get practical Q&A guidance on implementing planned grazing, building healthier soils, and succeeding in farming—plus pasture walks at Churchtown Dairy. Topics include fencing and pasture setup with water development, winter stockpiling to cut winter hay needs, cattle management and grass genetics, and how to build an operation on leased land. Tickets include an organic lunch catered by The Farmers Feast.

While most celebrate the New Year on January 1st, we do things a little differently around here.

For us, the farm’s New Year isn’t January 1st. It’s the day we turn our bulls out with the ladies!

It’s the start of a brand-new breeding season and the beginning of another cycle of life here at Gulden Farm.

Before the cattle trailer door opens, we always take a moment to reflect. We’re grateful for everything our mama cows & bulls gave us over the past year - the healthy calves, the lessons learned, and the opportunity to continue doing what we love.

Every season brings its share of challenges. We look back at what worked, what didn’t, and how we can improve as stewards of our land and livestock. Farming is a constant learning process, and each new breeding season gives us another chance to grow.

Here’s to another year of healthy calves, strong mamas, dependable bulls, and the promise of new beginnings!

Spring Round Up — Calving, grazing and making hay is a rough and simple look into what goes on this time of the year. It's early mornings, late nights and a seemingly never ending list of things to get done.

Life in agriculture, especially raising animals is and isn't as romantic as most people think - yes, it gives a lot to you, witnessing life first hand and up close, the ephemeral beauty of the land coming alive and changing throughout each season, serving something outside of yourself, lessons and knowledge of living an honest and good life through work, a sense of purpose and responsibility and so much more that is hard to put into words...but it also asks a lot from you, strength to face the inevitable loss of life and the hardships that come from raising and caring for animals, discipline to consistently show up each and every day, no matter the weather or really anything else, there's always something needing to be done and yes again being service to something that doesn't ask for it but needs it, putting ourselves second can be tough for some people but this work will demand it and make you a better person because of it - I think the best way to describe it all is just tough love and through all of that it's the very best life that will overfill your heart and life with meaning and purpose.

Big news from the pastures!

We are thrilled to officially introduce the newest member of our farm team: Michael!

Michael is the owner of Little O Ranch & Livestock, and a first-generation sheep farmer who shares our deep passion for regenerative agriculture and raising high-quality, grass-fed, grass-finished meat.

If you’ve been around lately, you might have caught Michael out in the fields. He has taken the reins on managing the rotational grazing of our cattle - keeping them moving through our rigorous grazing plan to ensure both our herd and our soils thrive!

Beyond his incredible farm intuition, Michael brings an undeniable spark of positivity to the farm every single day. He immediately fit right into our fun, hardworking farm crew. We couldn’t be more grateful to have his hands, heart, and humor at the farm.

Please join us in giving Michael a massive welcome to the team!

As you’re out and about in the coming weeks, you’ll start to see more tractors and farm equipment on our roadways.

Please remember:
🔸 Be patient and slow down
🔸 Don’t pass unless it’s safe to do so
🔸 Tractors are usually only traveling a short distance, so please be patient and give them the time they need to safely reach their destination.

Our local farmers are hard at work preparing fields, planting crops, and helping put food on our tables. Living in an agricultural county means sharing the road during this busy season—and a little patience goes a long way in keeping everyone safe.
