Grower Spotlight for National Disability Employment Awareness Month: Nuno, Community Engagement Assistant

Nuno brings so much energy everyday! He is always in a competition to find the biggest vegetable in the field, and has a gift of coming up with silly songs. This season, he can be found welcoming visitors and showing them the best way to water and harvest. He has worked at Red Wiggler for 15 years and is a fantastic ambassador both at the farm and at off-farm events.

Grower Spotlight for National Disability Employment Awareness Month: Clare, Distribution Assistant

Clare can be found leading tours, working the CSA, managing the wash station, and writing for our blog and newsletter. Her varied skills means no one day looks the same. She is a joyful presence at the farm and manages to keep an upbeat attitude even when we’re pulling weeds in 95 degree heat.

Do you know about our Discovery Garden? Our Community Engagement team hosts groups in this space every week. Raised beds, extra seating, even ground, and shade makes this space accessible for everyone who visits Red Wiggler. New addition this year: red wiggler worms! We have a new composting bin that sits right inside one of the raised beds. Students love feeding these expert composters food scraps.

Grower Spotlight for National Disability Employment Awareness Month: Brandon is an expert in finding the right tool for the job and always has the right glasses, hat, pens, and gloves for the work at hand. He can often be found mowing and keeping our tools and equipment organized. Brandon started coming with his school and just celebrated his 10 year anniversary of working on the farm.
