Here we go!

Yesterday marked the start of harvest for Bret Munselle of Munselle Vineyards in Alexander Valley! 🍇

Harvest marks the culmination of a year's worth of dedication in the vineyard and the beginning of an exciting new vintage for Sonoma County. This year also marks Bret's 26th harvest, continuing a family legacy that stretches back nearly 150 years. Since arriving in Alexander Valley in the late 1800s, the Munselle (Osborn) family has helped shape the region's agricultural history, farming everything from grapes and hops to prunes and dairy cattle before returning to winegrapes in 1972. Today, Bret and Kristen Munselle, alongside Bill and Reta Munselle, farm 700 acres in Alexander Valley, with the sixth generation now growing up on the family ranch.

Some things you can't rush. A vineyard. A reputation. A family name that's been working the same Alexander Valley ground since the 1870s.

Five generations of Munselles have farmed this land, and in this recent episode of the Wine Road Podcast, Bret Munselle walks us through what 150 years of stewardship really looks like.

It's a story of showing up, season after season. Of hard work handed down like a family heirloom. Of a Zinfandel so good it earned double gold.

Bret also serves as chair of the Sonoma County Wine Growers Commission, where he champions the growers and workers who keep this region thriving.

This one's for anyone who believes the best things are built slowly, with heart.

Thought we’d show off our last bottle of 2006 Munselle Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon.

In a meadow of little bitty bars of premium dark chocolate from Askinosie Chocolate

We are urging you to take a chance and nibble dark chocolate with your favorite glass of heady multi layered red wine. 🍷 🍫

It’s a thing. Comforting…maybe…a flavor sensation…definitely!

Can’t wrap your head around chocolate and wine together?

Consider a plate of rich earthy spicy mole poblano on roast chicken, baked rice or roast potatoes with little pieces of this chocolate in the sauce…proof that chocolate and wine most definitely play well together!
